Few problems with my 430 + Pics

I have been having a few problems with my 430. One that has always been there since I got it I have noticed allot of people have the same issue. Sometimes while shifting it will go into neutral or just skip from like 2 second to 5th. Sometime, I will even get stuck in neutral and cant go into first. I get the amber slow down at the same time. Seems to be worse on hotter days for some reason. Anyway, now today for some reason I noticed I smelled coolant, and I see it coming out of my car. Noticed it was running pretty hot. Not even a hot day.

My car has had some Novitec upgrades, including cat bypass. So I know that is causing some issues, most likely thinking its overheating even though I don't even had cats.

I am thinking maybe all the issues are connected but not sure.

Ok here is the weird one though. I noticed some weird residue on one side of my engine. Looks almost like a buildup of fiberglass?

Other side is perfectly clean, so is entire engine bay other than that one spot.

Anyway, at the moment I am charging my battery all night. I will turn it off in the morning for 30 minutes and hopefully restart the system after I put in some new coolant. In case my cats or something else just caused some issues while I was racing my friends GTR the other day.

I also noticed something unplugged, im thinking its something for the cat bypass, here is a pic.

Anyone have any clues about any of my issues or pics? Thanks in advance for the help.

Looks like header or cat insulation. You still have precats in the headers, correct? Could be a cracked header.

Ahh, I will have to check that out. Wonder if that has anything to do with the heating or gear skipping (due to extra heat in the engine bay)

People have spoken of white residue when the headers crack, this may well be the very same.

David- Probably does not have much to do with skipping gears. You need to see someone with an SD3 to sort that problem. Many possible causes.

Hi guys , the headers are broken. you have to smoke the headers with a smoke machine . This is a very common problem. There is a emission warranty on headers. I just had three cars down in the last 4 weeks.
