I think the 5th (or 6th) point of attachment is far more important than a roll bar, especially for the street. Agree with Taz, roll bars without a helmet are dangerous. Is your Scud a track tool only? If street driven, I believe the 3 pt. with air bag is actually safer than a 4 pt.
I went through this with some knowledgeable folks (track Dr.) on my Lotus ExigeS with 6 pt. Schroth belts.
