slow down

Just had a drive today around town and got to some traffic lights and a light came on saying slow down.car would not go into gear but temps all seemed OK.
Eventually I rev the engine and it then worked.
Any ideas lads.

Slow down warning light has come on for the 360 on occasion (most recently at a track day) indicating that the cats are overheating. I'm guessing it's for similar reasons on a 430.

In my case looks like a fault O2 sensor is causing the problem.

Garry- Like Barry said usually related to the cats and can be caused by a bad O2 sensor or a mixture problem that is dumping raw gas into the cat, where it burns. Can be serious and damage the cats, so something you want to get checked.

Garry- Affirmative and then hope it is something simple, like a faulty lambda sensor.

Check my threads bud I had the same issue. It is not the cats, the slow down light was for later models with CAT issues not for the 430.

I had a air leak in my F1 system. I had this exact same error you are having.

Less likely to be cat related if the car wouldn't select gear. 430's also show a slow down warning if there is a lack of pressure in the F1 system, which could be several things, including a lazy pump,( if you have a mid-'06 or earlier they had issues with the carry over pump from the 360) e-diff solenoid or loose actuator bleed screw. In any case, you should get it checked out sooner rather than later.

I had same issue here

I was told it was the cats. Which it wasn't. Turned out to be the E differential solenoid. About a $1000 dollar part plus labor. By the way, it took four parts before it was fixed. I'm not sure if the parts were all defective or the the labor process was an issue. The F1 system has to be bleed after installing the part.

Good luck with you situation.

Warning Light

Well to be honest, i stopped revving the car at stand still which i think was putting large amounts of fuel into the cats.
Since then ive had no problems with the warning light.

Scuse me Ferraricyprus, If you have an ambra light slow down and SD3 diagnostic problem that says "failure on accumulator" on F430F1 what kind of repair do you keep?
Discharge me for bad english
Thanks you
