My Modena Key Problem

I need help! I bought my Ferrari from the worst exotic car dealership in Orange County Calif.
Among many other things, I only got one key and one alarm fob.
I called the dealer in Newport beach and San Diego...they both told me I need an official letter from my finance company authorizing Ferrari to get me a key. Of course, the bank is not to happy to do this.
QUESTION: Do I need to go through Ferrari? I thought there was a special chip in the key so I had to get it through FERRARI.
Am I incorrect?
I would love to just buy a key blank and have a good quality locksmith cut me a key! Any advice?
Also, where can I purchase a set of rear diffusers for my 360 Modena?
I just want black...and I just want one "fin" on each side...I have seen them for $900 but that seems high???
Thank you for your assistance!

Tony, You can indeed buy a key blank and have it cut. Any local locksmith can do it. Original key blanks are rare and somewhat expensive, but there are plenty of styles available on eBay (where I got mine).

As for alarm fobs, do a search for them here, Taz recently re-posted a detailed paper on what is required to clone fobs. It tells you exactly what options there are.

If you don't mind, please PM me the dealer info. I'm currently looking at a 456 up in OC.

I'm happy to fly to OC and drive that bad boy back east for you.

keys are $2 to $6 at any locksmiths and will work great.

That diffuser that you think is too expensive....welcome to Ferrari.

A 456, so she's a coupe. You're thinking 458, which is still a few years out for us.

There is no chip in a 360 key. You can pull your glove box lid and have a locksmith cut you a key from the pins in the glove box lock as 306's have a single key for all locks on the car.
