Bmw m6

Hi,

As well as my F430 Spider I have an V10 BMW M6.

Power between the F430 v M6 is very similar and both are awesome cars in there own right.

I'm looking to sell the M6 and keep the F430 Spider but want another grand tourer, but something noticeably quicker to give me the WOW factor on another league!

I'm considering a 599, regarding performance is this another step on from even the M6 & F430?

Does anyone own one that's had similar in the past that can comment?

David.

Although I'm only young and do have a good business money is an option but would love an F12, sadly a bit beyond the scope at present!

Maybe if you narrowed it down for us, we can help you better

Price range? Are you looking for a Ferrari or another brand?

Possibilities are almost endless:

Aston Martin DB9, Rapide,
Maserati GranTurismo, Quattroporte,
Ferrari 599, 612, F12, etc
And so on...

Maserati GranTurismo MC - Giallo yellow
Porsche 911 GT3 RS - black with orange accents - wife's car
F355 Berlinetta - Giallo Modena, 6-speed manual, carbon sport seats -recently traded in
Porsche Cayenne Turbo S

I'm really looking at Ferrari and the 599, FF & F12 are too pricey for me!

Wouldn't buy an Aston (never deliver on power promised)

David- A 599 is way faster than an F430 or M6, about on a par with a ZR1 Corvette in acceleration. There are tons available now at reasonable prices. Was just going through them on E-Bay looking for window stickers.

Quarter mile time for an F430 is high 11s while the 599 is around 11s flat and the 599 is doing around 10 mph more at the marker.

I own a 2006 V10 M5 along with my 2008 612. If R&T testing is anything to go by, there is not much difference between M5 and M6 performance for the E60.

I have to say that the M5 feels like a truck after driving the 612. The engine specs might seem similar on paper but I do feel it's no contest. The V10 has very limited torque and really struggles to pull hard below 5K RPM at which point the V12 is already pulling very hard.

I'd go the other way and buy a McLaren if I was looking for a change of scenery.

No 599 will do 11 flat. Maybe a GTO, but a 599 GTB will never do 11 flat. Maybe if you use the launch control you could hit low 11's, but that car is severly overweight and traction limited.

If you are looking for an everyday driver and it is going to be an F car. And you want value for money, then a 612 Scag would be hard to beat. Some great value out there for 612s at present. Would compliment the 430 nicely too....

And your budget is ??? Do you own the M6 outright??? Simple questions that have been asked, but still not answered.

You might compare the new V8, twin turbo M6. It isn't a Ferrari, but it is significantly quicker than the V10 M6. I rode around VIR in one on Wednesday at a charity event. It was piloted by one of the BMW Performance School instructors. I was seriously impressed. The driver commented on how surprisingly faster it was than the prior M6.

Or a GTR if you don't mind the cheap plastics and you want a daily drive.
