I will let Tim share the details, but assisted him in the purchase of his new car. I am sure he will post which one soon, I won't spill the beans.

Hello everyone in the 16M club. As soon as I get things completed and get the car here I will post some pics. Thanks Mark for the help in evaluating the multitude of variables in the market right now. Gotta say an educated and knowledgeable buyer really makes a huge difference not only on the initial impression but what to expect on the after-purchase repair of not so perfect things. Just for instance, if you have the mold in the headlight issue, that could be a 10k swing to replace the carbon fiber headlights. Anyway, Thanks again to Mark and the members on Ferrarilife for their postings.

The hazing in the headlight problem will return, it's how the headlamp unit is designed and where the duct is pointing. Only a matter of time and unfortunately only Cube warranty covers a replacement and Cube can only be had for 2 consecutive years.

Only solution Im aware of is to not drive the car and to always keep the car in a climate controlled enclosure.

Several folks here in my area have had it replaced under warranty only to have the issue return a year or so later.

Not true, if you make sure to run the headlights often, everytime I drive, it really helps. Also especially after a wash, drive with headlights on to eliminate the moisture.

I'll try that, my passenger side unit has 3 small speckles now, lets see if they evaporate off.

A good body shop can remove your front bumper and use a heat gun to break the seal. Then clean out mold and reseal. Had to do this with my 16M because Ferrari of Washington lied about the condensation in my headlights. They did pay the $1300 bill though, after a courtesy reminder to Ferrari of North America!

Welcome to the club.
Sounds like you had some excellent advise and buying help from Mark.
Of course, you know we won't believe you until we see pictures

Tim

Did you end up with the one you were originally pursuing?

Looking forward to seeing some Kodaks.

Congrats!

Good morning! Finally jumped in after watching some great cars go off the market. Did not go with the Rosso Formula 1 paint car. The dealer could not give me a consistent story on the car and in the end he was just way above the market on a car that other than the 3 layer paint did not have anything special. Would have liked that one but I'm happy with the Rosso Corsa. It will be a lot easier to deal with any rock chips or bumper respray. Looking forward to getting the car and doing some driving for the spring.

You will love it!

Feel free to post some pictures - did you keep the Cobra ... IIRC?

As soon as I get the car down here, I'll take some pics.

Actually didn't have a Cobra, I have several Shelby mustangs I had been collecting. 67 GT500s and a significant 66 GT350 (serial# 6) not many single digit cars around and all are fully restored and documented. I saw you have a 69 Camaro, I've got a Yenko clone with correct 512 block casting and equipment. Didn't want to spend the 200k to get the real Yenko! These cars are not that easy to drive but they are nostalgic and an occasional run to the burger joint is a blast.

Okay looks like it will be here Saturday. Getting full fluids service (oil, coolant, brakes, and gearbox) done as part of the deal. I know some probably think I wasted my money but I bought the Ferrari Power warranty which they dropped to 2k from 5k. The car is coming from Lake Forest Ferrari. Really felt like the salesperson was courteous and helped sell the offer on the consignment. It felt like I was buying a better quality car when I went through a Ferrari dealership. Depends on the car but if it was sold by them the history is known and the service is more likely with Ferrari trained personnel. Looked at several cars at non Ferrari dealerships and talking with the salesperson, they did not have a clue about what I was asking about.

Holy Cow. How in the world can you get delivery tomorrow? You mean next Saturday?
