I think you have to go for the 16M, my SCUD is definitely special but I have driven it less than 6,000 Km in 3 years as I always get in my 430 Spider which I have driven more than double the distance during the same period

Hi Galtinuk,

I can see what you say in unusual! Really nice colour scheme. Being a dark colour I think it hides the 'top up' ugliness that unfortunately many 16m's, including mine (corsa red) have. Also, I don't like the matt grey ones unless they have a large dual giallo stripe.

A nice ride!!!!!

David.

David, ugliness and 16M can never exist in the same sentence? Wash your mouth out.
I'm a fan of RC 458's with painted/wrapped black roofs - I realise of course they are just trying to copy the look of a 16M roof up.

Nice shot Russell. Love your stripes. Fair call on the roof. Had forgotten how bad the soap tastes.

I drove the Scud coupe and loved it. I was in the market for one before a 599 stole my heart. I personally would not get a 16M because most tracks will not let you drive an open top vehicle. If driving on the track is not your thing, the 16M may be a good choice. I noticed HUGE price premiums with the 16M versus the Scud.

I would purchase a roadster with soft top .. especially if very fast.
In my view, the spider must not exceed speed as' maximum 160 kilometers

Great 16M in top condition, but had been for sale since January 2013
I find it EX-tremely hard to believe that 16m went for that.

Know the history of that car - business woman owned it previous.

Most track day cars are open top! The 16M has built in rollover protection and passes the broomstick rule and to my understanding is allowed on all tracks. Do you have experience of not being allowed on track in a 16M?
Doug was tracking his 16M before the new track toy was purchased.

It was the silver calipers that brought the value down.

Russell - I will keep tracking the 16m for light duty

The only issue I have heard was the scuds higher mounted exhaust may be above noise levels acceptable on early morning runs. Some guys made a device that attaches - was it you who bought one?

I drive in HPDE and TT with NASA and open top cars are not permitted on any track for their events (unless an open top is specific to the class, e.g., Cobra Challenge). It may be a different story for FCA or similar club track days.

Really? Their site seems to suggest a convertible with a factory roll bar is fine as long as it is designed to support the weight of the car and isn't just for show.

Russel - Thanks for the post. You would think the NASA officials would know what their own website says. The "official" HPDE/TT rules are worded slightly differently, leaving interpretation to what an acceptable "roll bar" is. Perhaps I am just unlucky in driving tracks where the officials are afraid of liability issues, etc.

GREAT SPEC except no LED Steering wheel, how many SCUD's /16M's don't have this ? I know it was a 5K option but I couldn't live without it and may soon have to have one for my 430 Spider too, if I can get it to work
