Tool kit leather strap 360 Modena

The leather strap that secures the tool kit to the front trunk panel is broken. This seems a simple matter of having a shoe repair shop make me new one. One problem I am facing is removing the strap and buckle that is attached to the floor of the trunk. It is secured with two rivets. Do I merely drill the rivets out? That would appear the easiest solution and then replace later with a couple of screws. Has anyone had a similar problem and replaced these straps? What did you do to remove the bottom strap?

Thanks

Steve

I broke the strap securing the spare wheel, was actually pretty reasonable cost to get a replacement from Ferrari! Amazing!

Steve- Affirmative. Have seen the tool kit leather straps on e-bay and here are all of them from Ricambi.

I had not checked the replacement costs on Ricambi or with Ferrari as I expected the costs would be insane. My thoughts confirmed on that. Ricambi list the strap kit for securing the tool bag for $190 and the straps to secure the tire repair cylinder for $134. I expect my local shoe repair shop will be more cost effective and the end result higher quality.

Still trying to see if anyone just drilled out the rivets securing the strap to the floor of the trunk to get the strap out.

Have the same issue. I've been thinking of sewing a leather patch or extension where it ripped. The issue is getting close enough without climbing into the trunk.
I hesitate to drill out the rivets and then put in pop rivets.

Steve- As long as you have the original hardware and a piece to use as a pattern, nobody will know the difference. Doubt if any of the 250 GTO leather straps are available OEM, but they all seem to have new ones.
