360 Xenon headlights upgrade

I'm looking to upgrade my stock headlights, and was just wondering if anyone has good experience with an after market upgrade to change headlights. I was thinking of a modern, powerful xenon headlights that will be really handy in pitch black B-road driving conditions with a bit of fog and mist. What are the options out there. All ears

Don't know how similar your 360 headlight pods are to our 550's but here's what we've done with the V12 cars: http://www.ferrarilife.com/forums/mo...ade-550-a.html

'99 550, Rosso Corsa / Nero, S/N:114654, Assy: 31836, Engine: 52084

High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars.

Personally i changed only the lamps with high quality halogen ones. They are not xenons but they look quite similar plus improved visibility. 100 euros for 3 pairs...

Late model 360s had HID lights, so that might be a good starting point.

I thought all 360's had HID lights? Which years had them? How can you tell if you have them or not?

Rob- Beats me, but probably about the same time the 575M came out in 2002 with HIDs standard. HIDs are listed on the window sticker on late model 360s. None of the tech data reflects the change, like usual, and if you look in your owners manual, the bulbs shown are halogens.

Just checked in my Owner's Manual and it says the low beams in my 2002 360 contain: High voltage "Xeno" bulbs.

That is good.....I recently ordered a DS2 pair in 6000k to upgrade what I currently have. I like the 6000k color much more than the OEM 4300k. Glad I didn't waste my money ordering these!

Picked up a set of D2S HID bulbs on E-bay and installed them tonight. OEM bulbs are 4800k which are kinda yellow like normal halogen bulbs. I bought 6000k which are much whiter like the HID lights on Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, etc. They cost $10 shipped to my door!

Super easy install! Plugged right in. Removed the front wheels for easier access to the light bulb panel. Look very cool!

I also replaced the small driving light bulbs in the headlights since I was already in there. I ordered a set of LED lights from Ebay for $3 shipped. The color of them matches the headlights perfectly!
Here are examples of what I installed:

2X 35W D2C D2R D2S Xenon HID Replacement Light Bulbs 6000K | eBay
2X BAX9S H6W 5 SMD 5050 LED 70LM Map Parking Position White Lights Lamp Bulbs | eBay

Hi Rob - did you throw anything out of whach with the LED change? Better question - did you just change the park light and left all of the turn signaling alone?

Didn't change the turn signal bulbs with a LED because this is the bulb others have had issues with.

Hi,
Did anyone find a definitive answer to which years the 360 had HID headlamps as an option or standard for the US?

Thanks,
Eric

Eric- Welcome to Ferrari Life. No, not pursued further as far as I know. You can go to ferraridatabase.com and download the various owners manuals and see if you can pinpoint the changeover point. Would guess Fall/Winter 01/02.

I am not sure for US market but in EUR market between 1999-02 cars it is Optional, post 2002 it is standart. If you dont have Xenon, there are too many options in the market such as osram nightbreaker, philips blue vision products, and Ring XENON Ultima +120% s.
These may be good upgrading options. Also you have a few options for OEM xenon bulbs. (personally I advice you to go for 4300-6000 kelvin among these alternatives).
HID Bulbs from The Retrofit Source Inc is a good adress for learning more about upgrading your OEM xenon bulbs. I am sure that prices can vary in different web sources.
