Alwin - yours has a slightly different mount that is even a little step-up from mine...benefits of #2 I suppose :-) It really does sound perfect. Dan and Ronnie heard it today. We will get more video soon.
Looks menacing!!!

Here is the pic of my LHS intake taping. It only takes a few minutes to do. My intake is different to the ones that Richard has shown in that the Y tube is on the outside of the curve and it does not have a resonator box on the other side. I am happy with the result and will report if any unpleasant sounds develop as SteVan has suggested. Thank you Richard for your advice about the drill holes but I am satisfied with my current set up. I feel that blocking the Y pipe inlet at the apex of the inlet curve could encourage more steam lined laminar flow as air bends around the corner. Maybe the decreased turbulence creates a faster airflow and more noise. I am not a physicist and I am probably way off track but it has been the best I have found without resorting to a drill.

Thanks Taz regarding the valve delete advice. I have been running like that since I bought her. But that 3K drone is problematic. I find myself changing down to 5th whilst cruising to avoid it. I suppose its a small price to pay to avoid that standard muffler note but there must be a better system. I am looking forward to see what develops with these new x-pipe setups from Alwin and dbonvillain.

Thanks Taz for the advice and Ill look into the Tasmania Targa for next year. Keeping one eye in the rear vision mirror if you dare go over 100 kph is no way to drive a Ferrari! My wife and I are holidaying in Europe next month and I might even be able to experience some of your autobahns!

Interesting to note that unlike the 430 Spider there is no sound box on the inside at the junction of the Y

Maybe Richard we have different noise regulations down here, so different specs? For example, not many US 16M's have LC where it is the norm here.

Yes please.

Okay - audio still sucks, but just ran a handheld cam from inside the cabin to try and get a feel for how (relatively speaking) quiet it is inside, yet wails like a banshee from outside - which we still have to get with Ronnie and gang. This weekend should work hopefully.

Sounds good dbonvillain. Looking forward to seeing and hearing the video from the outside, together with Alwin's dyno results. Can you configure it to be a 'bolt on' unit utilising existing mounts, without having to weld supports?

That's actually the config now - it's welded onto the pipe, the support bolts on the engine. I'll go grab a pic with my phone right now for you guys.

You can see the gen1 mount on these pics where Dave was weighing the stock system and the F1 exhaust for me.

Richard, there are a number of manufactures around the world producing valveless Scuderia systems, all with their own unique characteristics IE . particularly sound, heat and weight variants.

LC = Launch Control right?
All the Scuds 'have' LC I believe...just not all with the little button in the center console. Isn't that the case?
I haven't launched mine yet, but I thought there was a procedure that enabled it (something like in CST off, 1st gear, hold left shift lever for a second, LC flashes on the center display), lift off brake, floor throttle and it rips balls off the line.
(that last part I am not sure about as to whether you keep the brake down and hold the throttle and let off the brake, or whether you just lift off the brake and floor it. But all of that seems fairly logical as that's how the Gallardo did it's launch as well. )

To engage actual launch control:

Turn the manettino to CST off (LC is only selectable w nanny controls off as far as I know)
Put it into neutral
Hold down on your brake pedal
Engage first gear and hold until an “L” appears on the dash
Let 'er rip!

I have never launched my car, but I have put it into LC just to see if its actually available

Enjoy.

It is engaged from left paddle, CST off, car in 1st gear, pull left paddle back until flashing "L", left foot brake, floor throttle, should hold around 4k rpm, release brake and floor throttle at same time.

You are right, I should have said that we have been specked with the LC button. How's that x pipe going?

Laser etched plaques are done this week and Alwin's is out the door. Dave is making at least 2 more for the Scuds so nobody else has to wait, and pretty sure Jeremy's 430 spyder is going in next week or the week following for the new F430 design.

IMO it couldn't be any better. But guessing high flow cats and headers wouldn't do any harm...perhaps later :-)
Ronnie, Dan, jeremy and a few other folks were just on a drive with me though, they may chime in with their thoughts.
we got some fresh video too.
