Many thanks Mark, I see what you mean. For the moment, we offer the following variation of the F430/Enzo rear lights which are cristal clear. Although, they still preserve an identical design. For such small quantities, they are very expensive to manufactor. Not sure there is a real demand for different designed rear light clusters. Also, all car rear lights have to be SAE/ECE certified which is a long and expensive process. As you can see, it's almost mission impossible with such a very limited market and that's certainly why nobody makes them. But I'm open to any ideas/suggestions of course

As described in my previous post F1 Style Rain/Fog light flasher module, here's the video that demonstrates this new flasher module. The camera didn't capture the real flash rate but it gives a good idea.

Description:
When you're on track or road at a rainy or misty day, have you
ever thought that your Ferrari won't be noticed from behind?

Thanks to this Plug&Play flasher module and the provided
remote control unit, you can now make your 3rd brake light
flash like a F1 rear fog light without having to install an
additional light.

The micro-processor based flasher ECU can be easily installed
on almost any Ferrari and is completely reversible.

When the parking/position lights are turned on, you can now
turn on/off the continuous flashing of the 3rd brake light. If
you have installed our LED version of the 3rd brake light, it will
flash very very strongly and even with bad track/road
conditions, it will be visible at a high distance.

This new flasher module will always give priority to the brake
light. When you brake, it will automatically stop the light
flashes and turn on steady. When the brakes are released, the
3rd brake light will start flash again automatically.

YOUR SAFETY AND COMFORT IS OUR FIRST CONCERN!

The new version of the F430 DRL Headlights encounters a great success worldwide . Soon all F430s / Scuderias/16Ms will (should) have these DRL lights . 100% positive feedback!

A couple of more pictures of the F430 DRL lights from happy Swiss F430 owner.

Christmas is soon: new engine bay lighting system!

These are some pictures of the first prototypes of our new specific lighting system for the F458/F430/F360 engine bay.

This new LED lighting solution is based on our own LED light technologies we've already designed for the F430 DRL headlights and is heat resistant.

The engine bay light is connected to the running lights (parking/position lights) and in addition is controllable with a wireless remote unit offering the possibility to switch the light on/off and to dim it with 42 levels of brightness.
The lighting system will save your setting (on and brightness level, off) in its memory and even when the running lights are switched off, it will remember your setting when you'll switch them on again.

Will be available in several light colors: full white, full red or combined white/red.

This is not just a simple existing LED strip but a complete new designed solution. Our own LED chips have very specific lighting properties and a color temperature which make your engine shine like a diamond (full white) or provide a devilish mysterious look (red dimmed)!

As for all our products, this solution will also be Plug & Play and entirely reversible.

Soon available, hopefully for the Christmas enlightenment !

Which version do you prefer?

Hey Stefvan, have you or anyone ever changed the "amber" signal light within the headlamps to a clear one?

Hi Alwin,
Changing the amber turn signal light lens requires the headlight to be opened by heating/unglueing the lens. This is quite a risky operation something we don't want to do.

Makes sense.

Once upon a time I bought a replacement set of carbon headlamps to replace the old ones that were hazing, but in less than 3 months the hazing also appeared on the new set which we all now know is a terminal and common issue with the scuderias.

So, instead of ordering a 3rd set of headlamps, I dismantled a set, cleaned and buffed them out and then resealed them. The hazing will be reappear again eventually and I thought maybe when that time comes around I could update the amber lens =)

Any idea where I can get the clear lens though?

Engine Bay Lights Looks Great!

Hi Stef,

I've been exchanging via emails with you and want to compliment you on all your threads from day one on Ferrari life with lighting upgrades. Very impressed with the history and dedication to achieve nothing short of the best.

Regrading your new upcoming product...the engine bay lights.

Since you've had engine bay lights installed did you notice any glare in your rearview mirror while driving and reducing your ability to see traffic behind you?

Can they change colors or are we stuck with one color when ordering? I'm hopeful we can change the color for different use'e like car shows. Parking, driving, etc.

Mike

Hi Mike,
Many thanks for your nice post and compliments

Regarding your question, to avoid any glare in the rearview mirror, you can reduce the brightness of the engine bay light with the wireless remote control unit. The system has 42 levels of brightness. When it's really dark outside, at full brightness (which is very very bright!), all you would see through the rear window is your engine . That's why for safety reasons, you can dim the engine bay light.

Unfortunately, colors can't be changed. We made the choice to design a lighting system which is reliable, solid, heat and waterproof, and very bright using professional LED chips. It has also been designed to live in a harsh environment of the engine bay. Multicolor LED strips are cheap, very unreliable and certainly not made for an engine bay environment (only indoor applications). At least for the moment, I've not been convinced by any LED chip manufacturer for such application.

Best wishes,
Stef

Engine bay lights

Thanks for your reply, Could there be an option to add a second set of different colored lights combined in one system for e.g. Red dimmed and White, Thus giving the option to pick which lighting effect to use.
