F550 inside steering tie rod

Hello to All!

I have a question and maybe some other ones have/had the same Problem than I have at the Moment! The inside steering tie rod have to much space so I need to change it. The outside one is avaiable as known but I can not found the inside one. The Dealer told me that I have to change the hole part but this is a cost over 3000..... That sounds like a joke. Have anyone here some experience how to handle this Kind of Problem? Maybe there is a part of another car suitable?

Kind Regards from Austria chris

Hello Chris,

i think for sure that the steering box have inside componets commont to other cars of that period probably Lancia, but Ferrari, as other brands, sell the complete steering box and not supply the inside spar e parts.

I found a website that those have spare parts, could be check the dimensions (they have differents lenght) and ask to them, is not expensive ....

Hello Fabio,

Thanks for your answer! I am scared but it seems to be the only way to find a alternative part. So I will remove the old part out of my F550 and take a look on the dimensions. After that I will post it here for anybody who comes in the same Situation sometimes in the future. I hope I will find a part which fits.

Hello!

As I promised I will post the newest Info I have now. I found a sparepartdealer called "superformance" in UK which can offer this part. So it's not necessary to change the complete stering assembly to solve the Problem.

Kind Regards

Christian
