F550 - F575 - F456 Sport Mufflers with valve

Hello,
in this thread i will insert informations about my new back sport mufflers for F550 - F575 (& F456).
Mufflers are completely made in AISI 304L, with the exception the tails that are in AISI 316 polished (for best corrosion resistance) with GTC style design and are equipped with bypass valve.
I designed the muffler in order to obtain two sound levels very differents:
a - At valve closed sound is quiet, a little bit quiter in respect to the OE HGTC muffler.
b - At valve opened there is a direct passage form in to out that confer a sound more hight and aggressive, like a F1 car.

For the noise reduction there isn't fibre inside the muffler, then will not be have sound change in the time because there isn't consumption of soundproofing material...
Sound reduction is obtained by means of reflection wave and calibrated throttling passage in order to have a low counterpressure level at valve closed.
Muffler have external heat shield made by ceramic fibre covered with AISI 304L polished.
The major parts are CNC machined or obtained by plastic deforming using dedicated molds, the assembly are did on jigs in order to mantain restricted tolerances.

Weight is 7 Kg each.

Materials are ordered and some mufflers will ready to sell at the end of october.

Follow some draeings, jig for the assembly and pictures of the mufflers

Fabio- Beautiful workmanship on the mufflers. A new set of HGTC mufflers runs about $15K here, so yours should be the way to go for anyone who wants a set.

I agree with Taz. That looks like a Mil-Spec muffler setup!

Beautiful work Fabio; it's always good to see your attention to detail and the level of craftsmanship you bring to this forum.

High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars.
