Fabio's Bypass CAT for F599

Hello,
i'm doing the bypass cats pipes for the 599, probably at the end of next week will be ready, the beta tester is a friend of th eother chat for his 599....
Yesterday morning i picked up from the CNC machining company the flanges for the straight pipes, that are little bit complicated but so nice ....
I done by water jet cutting and following CNC machining, are expensive but the pictures speak for them ...
As soon they we'll be ready i will post pictures ...

Ciao Davide,

Those flanges are made by AISI 304 SS water jet cutting plus after CNC machining ...
I took the interface dimensions from OE CAT, but after drawing is mine ...
I analyzed the OE CAT and i done a design different to the other brands, with more linear gas flow way ....

Hello ,
i have completed the first set for my friend, i added to the heat shield, like the same kind that i do for my CATs.
I think i a nice work and the dissipation heat under car will be very low in comparison to the original CATs.
About the noise, for sure will be more loud in respect to the CATs .... and could be reduced with the x-pipes after those, or with the adding of two little silencers ...
Next two sets will be ready at the end of this week, but only one is available..
If test will do nice results, within less time i will have more sets available ...
Please note the cut type at the end of the pipes and that design is perfectly symmetrical for the both pipes, the left and the right......

Tomorrow i will post the final prices.

Best Regards at all.

Fabio

Hello,
some people think that the 599 Fiorano is loud in OE exhaust configuration, if remove CAT and install the straight pipes the noise level for sure increase ...
For someone is good for other is bad, in order to help those last owners, i designed also a version of my pipes with two little silencers in order to limit the level noise ...
Will be ready soon ..
All parts are in Stainless Steel 304L

Approx weights pipes without heat shield:

L = 1960 gr, R= 2060 gr

Weights pipes with heat shield:

L = 2210 gr, R= 2110 gr

Weights pipes with silencer and without heat shield:

L = 2990 gr, R= 2920 gr

Bypass CAT Upgrading,

an Hungarian friend have installed my pipes two weeks ago, follow results:

1 - they fit good on the exhaust interfaces (flanges from headers and central pipes).

2 - as i thought the lower alluminium plate can't re-install because the stiffener clashed with my pipes, this is due to my pipes design.
He decided to not re-install this plate.

3 - mi friend told me that sound is great with burble.

4 - about the increased performance, he didn't tell me because he is busy at work and not drove the car, he only engine run after the installation pipes.

About the point 2,
I prefered do a most linear design as possible for follow reasons:
a) have less counterpressure
b) less heat radiaton
c) NOT COPY other manufacturers...

The exhaust lower plate is not structural (ferrari PN 985216839), is made by very thin alluminium plate with stiffener in the upper side, this plate is locked on the frame by four small bolts in four big slotted holes ...
This week mi friend send me the original plate, is my intention to make a new plate (Al, SS or Ti) with a slot in order to not clash with pipes, and include this plate in the kit.
For me is better to have good pipes design and replace plate (ot not re-install) instead to mantain this plate and not good pipes design ....

During the last weeks i had another idea about those pipes, good or bad ..?
For me good, but it depend from the tastes, for sure no other had thought to do it for the F599!!
In this case even more so, the lower plate is to be remove or replaced by my new design plate....

Best regards at all that will spend time for read above ...

Thanks

Hello,
I designed other options, in addition to the bypass straight pipes, i designed a new lower plate in aluminium (900 gr weight) that i want to include in the kit, i'm waiting, from more time, some dimensions of the car (from a friend) that i need for check if my drawings will be perfectly fitted on the car ....

At the end I could provide following options:
1 - Straight pipes bypass (base version)
2 - Silenced straight pipes bypass
3 - H bypass pipes
4 - Silenced H bypass pipes

For all is possible to have the heat shield in option, but not so necessary, my friend tested the option 1 without heat shield on his 599 in Dubai and the heat radiation is very reduced, now is at reasonable level, but for his taste noise is increased too ...

Obviously no modification on the car is needed for the different options.

Regards at all.
