ok, mine is [email protected]

will look tonight, but email me to remind me...I'm somewhat terrible at that...say, 6PM PST

. 'had' the entire box, but not sure if I threw it out when I dissolved my GT. Believe I still have the 5 disk CD unit though....don't remember tossing that.

PS: your PMs are still not allowing incoming but I got your message...strange.

Ok, rummaged through all my Ferrari boxes, and nothing left of the 456 save a worn, but could be repaired window left side mechanism. Not even the speakers left over. Thinking I may have given them to Ted Ruttland, free. Might hit him up, sure he'll charge well for that, but at least you have an possible source.

TONS of Mondial stuff left over, but thinking ebay.....new fuse cover, toneau top etc. there.

sorry. rik

I can remember when I bought my first road car way back in 1976. An Austin 1800, which I bought from my grandfather for $300. I installed the latest stereo hi fi for the exact price of the car! Complete with a modern graphic equaliser (remember those?). Played my cassettes in my car, listening to my favourite music in my parent's garage 6 months before I could legally drive my car.

You guys are keeping that spirit alive.

Hey Graeme, I tried to pm you, fellow Aussie and all that but I couldn't. Get me at [email protected] and we can chat. I'm a Melbournian who also loves Sydney, go figure heh.

David.

yup, remember the slides. I also remember I paid a ton for a Sony Four-way quadraphonic in 1973 at the Subic exchange PX......that was a technology that lasted for one album by Santana.

I'd much rather have that Austin 1800, or even my BMW 1600 from those days.

Still Chasing the switch

I think I have fixed My PM issue
Any one found any old audio head units for a 456GT ( not M) the early type.

It's a Sony unit rebadged as Ferrari.

Most parts are no longer available, per repair tech at La Jolla Audio.

You might have better luck looking for the replacement Sony unit, as no doubt a lot more of them were sold than were the rebadged Ferrari units.

I think I have a photo on those speakers in an posting I did on 456 Window mechanism replacement.

Nope, didn't picture the grills, but IIRC they seemed to be no big deal looking at them with the door liner off: about six links in that post some are PDFs

Graeme, if you are still in search, maybe I can ask my friend to find a used one in the market here in Japan. I would need the exact item numbers, if not something to go by so that my friend would not waste his time that way.

If he can source one, it should not be terribly expensive, but then it would need to be shipped and all that.

Recently, I had him find a used unit for my 1997 MB SL600 and he was able to locate one in no time.

Hi Jimmy
It is the head unit in the picture and all he is after is the off button. If the whole head unit is available. Part no. the Eurospares site is item 2 Ferrari 456 GT - TUNER AMPLIFIER Part No. 155712
