Fabio- The Pirelli tires being fitted to the new Ferraris and Lamborghinis are the latest P Zeros and are not the old Directionals and Assymetrics that were recommended a long time ago for the 360 and F430, but never for the Maranellos. The Maranello recommended tires, again, quite a while ago, were Assymetrics front and rear. Those are very old design tires, some of them P Zero Rossos

The plain old PZeros that are the new style are available in 575M sizes and are very good tires. For an HGTC, the MPSS or the equivalent of the P Zero Corsa, the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s, are also available. The MSC2s are fitted to Z06 Corvettes with the Z07 package and to the street race version of the Viper. Also available in 575M 19" sizes.

Really sorry for the lack of pictures but here the weather has changed dramatically. Its raining/snowing intermittently and I just don't want to ruin the detailing.

Later I´ll post the pictures the detailer sent me via whatsapp to at least post something until the the weather gives a break to take the car for a spin and get decent shots of it.

Goliat,
Beautiful car...
Congratulations

I have a question: My 09 16M has the OEM corsa tires with about 3000 miles.
The tires are recommended to be changed on every 6000 miles. Should I change them now since they are about 6 years old! And what tires do you recommend!
My dillema is...my 16M is worthy for a collector!
I am not sure if I should sale it and at what price! Or just keep it, enjoyed it and drive it more!
I am really thinking about buying a red 2016 Porsche 911 Targa 4GTS, just love that car.

thanks,

Muftah

Muftah- Yes, your tires are timed out at 6 years. Many Scuderia and 16M owners have been very happy with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires after wearing out a set of Corsas. Tires have made a lot of progress since the Corsas were introduced.

Terry,

MPSS is an excellent all round tire, but
I was not sure if MPSS is a good fit for the 16M.
I always value your knowledge and expertise and going to follow your recommendation.

Wee...Tire Rack have them on stock

Thanks

Muftah- If you want a DOT legal street tire, same ones they put on Z06 Corvettes with the Z07 package, the other alternative is the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2. Not as good in the rain and will wear quicker, but the same type of tire as the Corsas, but much more modern.

If you feel the tires are actually gripping as they did when new, continue using them. In the moment you feel they´re hard and don't grip, they´re past they´re best and should be changed.

If you´re going to use the car on street go for the PSS. If you´re going to attend track-days, go for the PSC2.

As the 16M is yours do whatever you prefer... but in my opinion the 16M is collectable, and the Porsche 911 Targa4S is just another 911, so not collectable, or just consumable, will never rise in value and losts of them will be built. I would keep the 16M, try to keep the mileage at the minimum and get the 911 (second hand) and use it all the time.

Totally agree Goliat, many Fcars are getting so expensive to get into, they are no longer suited for track days.

Also I agree on the MPSS which are light years better than the Pirelli's. I have them on the 575M after years of Pirelli's and am amazed at the difference.

I also have 2 sets of rims for the F430, MPSS for general duties on one set and MPSC2's going on the other for Track days.

By the way your 575M is a beautiful combination and in immaculate condition, congratulations.

Cheers
Michael

G- Have to disagree with you on his old tires. AT 6 years they need to be changed, especially on a Ferrari. Some even advocate every 3 years for a Ferrari, but I think that is overkill. I even have my 89 year old mother change the tires on her Buick at 6 years, even though the tread is not worn out. Too much degradation of the tire after 6 years of outgassing and compound breakdown. Degrades traction, especially for braking.
