Ferrari 550 Fusebox

Hi everybody,

I have one question; Does someone know something about the differences between the fuseboxes of the F456, F456MGT and the F550? Maybe my fusebox have some errors (Lost of the front fans, the aircondition and blower, the blinker, the outdoortemperature, the filler cap and the outside mirrors) - no fuse is gone, all relais are ok...
Is there a possibility to repair a fusebox inside - there are many boards connected together inside so it seems to be tough to check or repair something.

Many Greetings Chris

Chris,

First try swapping relay N in the illustration below with relay Q and see if it helps with any of the dead circuits.

Relay N controls all the key operated circuits. If it fails, it will knock out many things.

Relay Q is supposed to control the low beam headlights.

Along with the other things you mentioned, relay N is supposed to control the starter, injectors, and ignition as well, so if your car is still starting and running OK, the problem may not be this relay, but it's quick, easy & free to try, before you have to dig deeper for more expensive and difficult solutions.

Thanks for your reply! The car is running well except the mentioned failures - no messages from the boardcomputer, everthing seems to be fine but i will follow your suggestion - maybe it helps?

Chris- You can download a 550 workshop manual for free at ferraridatabase.com. Same for the 456 and 456M and there is an expanded Section L for the 456M, too.

Chris, Russ Putnam from Ferrparts has these fuseboards rebuilt by someone, and he offers them on eBay.

I see that there's one on there today: Ferrari 550 Relay Electrical Fuse Board 164673 | eBay

Before purchasing, I would contact Russ to get the details of this. PM me if you'd like his email address.

there is nothing to see on the fusebox when it is oppend - no optical short time overload or something like that, only the functions i had listed are gone - my car was at a ferrari dealer/garage and they asserted that failure.

Some days ago i installed the F456 fusebox - the immobilizer was active afterwards and the horn's were going on - at the moment i was not able to find the reason, but it seems to be that the control for the immobilizer is not documented axactly at the workshop and is running in an other way than at the F550 fusebox - the story goes on...

Fuse Box Location on a 550

Hi...I am new to the forum. I was wondering if anyone knows the location of the fuse box in a 1999 550 Maranello.... My windows work intermediately and I'm wondering if it is because of a relay or warn out fuse. Thanks...

Welcome to Ferrari Life. Download an owners manual and workshop manual at ferraridatabase.com. Until then, the fuse box is under the carpet and a panel in front of the passenger seat.

Hi Chris, Dave Helms is your man to rebuild your 550 fuse box and talk to him about the gold connector Kit for your 550. If you plan to keep your car long term this is the way to go. Regards Gary.
