weird F1 anomaly with my 575?

I took part in a Drive event with my 575 yesterday, and about 3/4 through the drive, at a stop sign at near the top of a hill, in Sport Mode, when I engaged 1st gear it showed I was in first gear but it didn't engage and my car rolled backwards. I tried a few times and the same thing happened. Finally the car stalled. When I restarted I turned off Sport Mode and 1st gear engaged no problem. Then later on I switched to Sport Mode again and the problem did not recur. Does anyone know what could have been the cause for this? Perhaps its an anomaly but I'm a bit concerned.

Clyde- Sounds like a transient glitch, but there may be a code remaining in the system if you have someone hook her up to an SD2. If I lived near a shop with an SD2, I would have the F1 fluid changed and the system bled and tested every three years. That was the recommended interval for the last dry plate F1 system, the 599.

Thanks Terry

I am bringing it in next week for a tech inspection and to make sure everything is ok prior to tracking it at Mosport on the 15th, so I'll ask them to do that

There are no updates yet because my scheduled visit to the dealer was delayed by a week so that they could do a valid tech inspection prior to my tracking the car. As Terry recommended, I will ask them to not only check it out but also to change the F1 fluid and the Transaxle fluid to be sure the issue does not repeat. I'll also ask them to do an SD2 test to see how much clutch life/wear I have on my 575.

Hello guys,
in the last period at some of you 575m f1 owners have problems with the f1 gearbox control, for one reason or for other, normally the 575 f1 is affidable, i'm little worried for my, i hope my not will the next, and not regret my old manual 550 gearbox ....
This year my dealer not changed F1 unit oil, for him now is not necessary, but next year i will do it, including SD2 bleeder.
I drove mine two evening ago and gearbox was very good ...
good luck for your ....

Fabio- The only problems with F1 are really related to not having the SD2 available, which is my problem. If you have a good tech with an SD2, all the F1 problems are fixable. Especially now that we have someone who can rebuild actuators and another place for cheap F1 lines.
