from the driver seat, when i press the clutch in and when I release it, the clutch pedal
squeaks. It sounds like an old door in a haunted house (that type of sound).
It sounds like a spring?
any ideas on the cause or the fix????
With age and mileage, the grease for the pedal pivot might have dried out and gone away. You might be able to spray a lubricant in there as a quick and short resolve but ideally you would want to disassemble the pedal assembly, clean out the old grease, make sure shims and washer are in good shape, re-grease and reassemble.
Here's an exploded diagram of the assembly from Ricambi America:
When I replaced my clutch control pump I tried to grease up the pedal assembly underneath before reconnecting....don't have any squeaking to speak of.
I wonder if disconnecting the clutch control pump piston from the pedal assembly would allow you to expose any squeaking coming purely from the pedal?
