599 Parking sensors retrofit

Anyone know how easy/expensive it is to retrofit front parking sensors on a 599? Rears were standard I think but a few cars I am looking at don't have fronts.

Also can the LED steering wheel be retro fitted or is it just simpler to buy a car with them

Anyone have a list of the model year differences?

Jem- In most cases it is much cheaper to just make sure the car you want has the correct features. Ferrari prices for parts are atrocious. In the case of the LED steering wheel, I believe that was standard. At least the parts catalog does not show a separate LED steering wheel.

Used FERRARI 599 GTB FIORANO F1 ... for sale - PistonHeads (Ref 1570358)

This is a UK car, and there are a few like it without LEDs in the steering wheel - 4th photo shows it clearly. Was it part of another package? Carbon steering wheel?

Affirmative, I looked it up on a German option list I have and the carbon steering wheel with LEDs was optional. 599 revs so fast, that would seem to be a must have option.

Jemt.
You can always turn the led's off via the menu.
If you want to give me a call about buying a 599 I might be able to help, as I went through the process earlier this year.
As Taz says, try to buy one with the extras you want on it. In 2008 there where some small changes and different ECU's which are supposed to make it more economical! Can't say I have noticed though. Make sure you find out the clutch and brake wear, [ Ferrari PPI] as it could show if it has been abused, and also make sure it has a Ferrari warranty.

Definitely much easier/cheaper to find a car with the LED wheel than retrofitting. The front parking sensors were always a problem on 599s due to the grill and curve of the nose. Most did not come with them as the mounting looks awkward.

On the sensors, two choices from a dealer - 4k to change bumper and ECU and display so that they come up on the dash with the rear sensors
Or
Non-ferrari sensors, with audible feedback only for 400

Neither seems a great choice...

Steering wheel change is a no-brainier... Just buy a car with it installed

There are cars with sensors out there, mine has them, I think they were more common on later cars.
