Best oil for 599 HGTE

Hello,

I new on this forum I use to be on maserati life (own maserati GS), but I just buy a black 599 HGTE and i trying to get some data on the 599, especialy technical data.

I love mechanics and I use to do all by myself, modification and maintenance, it looks to be difficult to find some technical data even some basic things.

I wanted to change oïl to start from new and I didnot find many things, while looking the maintenance invoice from the old owner oil looks to be shell hélix 10-60 with an additiv FVI booster oïl.

Did you have some advise (website, data...). I'mtrying to find the best blood for my new baby.

Thanks for help

Patrick- Welcome to Ferrari Life. 10W-60 Shell Helix Ultra is the recommended oil and the additive is to quiet the valve lifters. Assume you have an owners manual with the car, but tech data on late cars is hard to find because it is all on Ferrari's MODIS computer system. You can download OMs and some other data at ferraridatabase.com, but workshop manuals will be very expensive if you can find one.

Careful how you check the oil level, as it is checked very differently to how it says in my owners manual!

Thanks for advice, it's same as my maserati as it is dry sump.(same principal for all)

advice is 4500rpm during one minute in order to empty oïl from the engine and fill out the oïl box and then, 2 minutes to stabilised the oïl between engine and oïl box.
