i traded my 612 for a 575 last year. very different driving feel from the two cars. despite the close match on paper performance, on the road the 575 seems like a sports car while the 612 is a pondering, but powerful, boulevard cruiser. the F1 shifters in both cars are a bit blah, nothing like the FF shifter. i would opt for the manual tranny in both cars. and also, i would opt for a 612 OTO with the 599 drivetrain if i were to buy another 612, mostly for the later generation drivetrain. i like both cars, so you won't go wrong with either as long as you dont expect the 612 to be a canyon carver. possibly the 575 is a better buy as it is a better all arounder, with its ability to be a true sports cars (get the FHP/HGTC packages) but also civilized with modern conveniences and modern ease of use for leisurely cruising.
