AC vents

What is the easiest way to remove AC vents from dash? Is it the two clips inside the vent?

Get a thin but wide (if that makes sense) screwdriver, insert it between the eyeball and the dash and pry them out. I tape the screwdriver with electrical or masking tape so it doesn't scar the plastic or the dash.

It's a touchy-feely thing, so you have to get in there and do one, then you'll see what I mean. Sometimes a 2nd screwdriver helps, and sometimes a dull table knife with a rounded end can be used to great advantage (not that I would know......)

Once the whole assembly is out, it's easier to separate the outer part from the tube, IMO. The outer part is the only bit that Robbie needs for de-stickying anyway. Just note how the little rack & pinion mechanism works so you'll be able to reassemble.

High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars.

Thanks for the info. I got the cover off using a ferrari tool (kitchen knife), how does the rest of the assembly come out?
