Does anyone know where I can purchase an engine for a 456GT?

Now that's a request you don't see every day!
I've seen one or two on eBay in the last year, none recently.

Best try one of our sponsors, Exotic Auto Recycling.

There's a Saudi fellow on FChat, who is trying to sell a 550 engine. I'd think if you put the 456 manifolds on a 550 engine it probably wouldn't know it was still supposed to be a 550. Plus you'd then have the 550's titanium rods and hydraulic lifters.

High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars.

With the lack of care many of these see, I would venture to say you would spend not much more money, much better placed, in rebuilding your exisiting engine. That is unless you have structural damage to the block.

totally agree on this. Even if needing a whole new set of valves [can get better after market ones] or welding the thing, I'd expect it cheaper than getting an entire engine. BUT can you OP express why? might better understand.

BTW 550 manifolds: IF the 550 manifolds or non 456 manifolds fit the 456, I would have been in seventh heaven. NOT the case. 456 or build your own. BRIAN knows that for a fact as we've been there done that.
