599 - Question on color?

I saw a beautiful 599 GTB today. Car looked brand new and had under 7k km on the odometer. Only question is the color combination. Exterior is ARGENTO NURBURGRING Grey with a Cartier red interior.

Opinions??

Boxer, I think that's a nice different colour for a 599.

I saw one in Istanbul and was pleasantly surprised when I saw a red interior, thought it would be black.

I think the interior would grow old to me in time with the lighter grey exterior. I bet it's striking as a first impression, yes?

I don't think Argento captures the shapes and highlights the body well.

To me that car needs a dark color. I have a client with one in black metallic that is stunning and I am not a huge fan of black on most cars.

If you want something in the grey/silver realm I think Silverstone would be great.

To me most of the cars in Argento just lose any visual impact. The shapes blend together.

It is actually a bit more subtle than expected. Unique but not striking like a black/red combination.

I love Argento Nurburgring and red on the 599. Silvers and metallic grays seem to go really well with the GT Ferraris and are kind of signature colors for the late V12s. Would love one with that combination.

But then, I am not fond of black cars at all. Only had two, and repainted one (silver) and kept the other only 6 months.

Sounds nice. Is the dash, steering wheel, header and doors also the same leather or in a different color than the seats? That would also tame what I think would get old, in particular the dash color if red.

The light grey does hide the exterior lines a bit but that may be part of the appeal for this car. Calipers a dark grey?

I like the red or yellow calipers. Adds a bit of contrast and color. The 599 looks much better to me with the Challenge, HGTE or GTO wheels than the pentagrams in the photo above. Wonder how those pentagram wheels would look on a 612?

Sorry Boxer, I'm not a fan of red interiors, and I agree with Brian, the car would look better in a darker gray shade.

Sorry, got the exterior color wrong, it is Grigio Silverstone. Hope to have a few high res pictures I can post in a couple of days.

Thanks for all the viewpoints.

Boxer,
Grigio Silverstone is great colour, it is dark enough to show the sculpted body of the 599.
The one I saw a few weeks ago was a RHD at HR Owen with charcoal leather interior, looks great!!! Other colour that matches well with Gr Silverstone is also Red Bordeaux (which might be close to your Cartier Red). I am not a big fan of red leather interior myself.

Great Color on a 599 - best one I have seen is black over red on a 2008 especially with all the cf bits on the interior.

Boxer- Much darker color, so likely much closer to your tastes. With red, great combination.

Boxer that color combination works a lot better IMO, real nice with the red interior if it's been cared for. The only other car I've seen in a 599 that might equal that is a two tone exterior that was red with a dark grey roof. The silverstone is classy and elegant, perfect car for evening dinner rides.

I also thought the black callipers added to the overall look too, and I would usually go for yellow on a dark car.

Cheers
