No Reverse 575F1

I started my 575 F1 and it was fine. When I tried to put it in reverse, I got no response. As if there was no signal from the gear selector to the transmission. I turned the car off and tried again. The paddle shifters will select Neutral and First, but there is no sign of reverse. Any ideas

Sounds like the selector, but try pushing harder on the brake pedal and see if that does anything to help. Likely not since the paddles work, but at least it costs nothing to try. If not, you need a good techniciann, hopefully with an SD2.

no reverse

I dont know how true this is and it has never happened to me, but the previous owner of my 575 told me if I ever have trouble putting the car in gear to make sure I properly closed the hood after disconecting the battery tender. He added I would save myself a very large towing bill on a waisted trip to the dealer When I asked what happened, he did NOT want to talk about it. I dont know if there is any kind of saftey sensor to prevent the hood from flying open at high speed but like Taz said it dose not cost anything to look? Let us know how you make out.

well, hood flying off in reverse would be interesting.

but wouldn't hoit to do a reset....I know I'll get slammed for that, but getting into reverse even for a short stint to drive to dealer sounds like a solution to me.

then again, I've done dummer things

Hi Tat I havent heard back from you so I hope your problems are solved, if not perhaps this can help. The other day I backed into my garage instead of pulling in,when I was getting close to the back wall I opened the door hung my head out to see and the car would NOT go into reverse. It would be interesting if there was a DOOR open, I closed it and everything was fine

Reverse Problem solved

Well, it got worse before it got better. As I moved the reverse selector one last time, to see if it would decide to work, it stopped moving. It turns out that it was broken inside. The dealer tried to repair it, but could not do so. I had to buy a new module and have it installed. Now the car is perfect!!

I love a happy ending, but a $4K+ happy ending not so much.
