Terry, I can honestly say that you are the single most knowledgeable person there is on the cars.

I do believe that if Enzo was still around he would call you with questions regarding his cars!!

Many, many thanks, as usual!!!

I still think we should have an all Maranello Terry Phillips Rally every year. Some place ideal to drive our specific type of cars where we can also compare our cars, stories, thoughts and ideas etc... Maybe it would create more excitement for these marvelous machines as well.

Of course, I may be also looking for a great excuse to drive accross the New Mexico desert and get back to Santa Fe.

Terry, sorry but this concept just isn't getting any traction. Seeing all of those Maranello's lined up together would be a sight to behold. Might have to stop out there myself after the Formula 1 race in Austin assuming it ever occurs.

My way of saying thank you for all of your advice.

Rick, here is a pretty cool video that says F1 date has been set. Maybe the idea would be to set up a meet at the F1 race in Austin.

F1 date has been set

Bill, thanks for the link. Per the website date is November 18, 2012 for Austin, TX.

Love your idea of a Maranello meet in Austin. Formula 1 Maranello Madness - Austin, TX. What are the chances of getting any traction for this concept though? I'm not even sure we could convince Terry to come to a rally in his own honor.

Would probably take some work and a specific thread for indications of interest. Guessing that there will be an organized effort of some sort for Ferrari owners as a whole to meet there. At meets like Petit Lemans (Road Atlanta) this weekend, Sebring, 24 hours of Daytona and more they often pool as a group somewhere on site.
I plan to attend the race and it would be a sizeable effort to bring the car. If there were enough interest it could be done. Something to knock around anyway, still time.

Rick- There is all kinds of organized activity from the Rocky Mountain region of the FCA, with hotels, and busses to the race. My mother lives north of San Antonio, so Jan and I hope to go. First race may be a mess because all the planned roads will not be finished.

Rick, I probably would not drive the car that distance. Know it's made to and capable, just not my thing.

Bill, 20 hours from Naples to Austin. Just another nice road trip for me especially with all the great golf along the route. I love driving my 575 long distance particularly when I can find proper roads and good places to stay. With family in Houston it becomes a "no brainer" but I am somewhat concerned about Terry's comment regarding the unfinished roads around the track.

I'll be curious to see how hard it is to get tickets though.

Rash on your front lip? My first thought is watch how you go down

but on a serious note: watch how you go down.
