I usually haunt FerrariChat in the TR section as Vincenzo. While researching info for my belt change, your thread popped into view.
Please help me with a clarification on the definition of TDC per Ferrari...
Others have said that Ferrari's version of TDC is specified as 'the moment a piston reaches its greatest height in the cylinder bore'. This 'Ferrari version' is at the start of the 'dwell period' for the few degrees that crank rotation has little or no effect on piston movement. In contrast, on a US engine, TDC is specified as being in the middle of the dwell period.
Is it true that Ferrari's version of TDC is at the start of the dwell period?
