I'm the 4th owner of a 550 I purchased almost a year ago. It's painted Azzurro California with shields and Cuoio interior w/dark blue uppers. I live in the Wash, DC area and purchased the car from a Los Angeles dealer representing an estate. The previous owner put 300 miles on the car in 6 years, so rather than driving the car across country to get acquainted, I had it transported and then had a major service done before I drove to Florida and back for a proper shake-out. On the way down, the battery failed and I replaced at a local auto parts store. On the way back, I had issues with the catalytic converter thermocouplers and exhaust temperature ECUs but was still able to get home (on 6 cylinders at one point). I added an after-market cruise control (Rostra) but couldn't get it working despite having installed the same unit on two other cars. After fiddling with it for a month, drove the car up to Michigan to get the CC sorted-out. The issue was too much resistance going through the ground circuit (continuity was good). With the CC working, the trip back was much easier on my right leg. I've put over 5,000 miles on the 550 since April and have loved every mile. I also own a 1957 Thunderbird (3 years restoring my father's car) and a 1967 Corvette (1.5 years restoring). I like turning wrenches.

Welcome, and to answer your question in the other area, we just needed to approve your first post.

High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars.

Welcome to the forum CR.
You'll have to join us at City Dock in Annapolis on Sundays.
Or Katie's in Great Falls on Saturdays.

Of all the narcissists I know, I love me the most.

Welcome CR - it's refreshing to read of a new owner who actually acquired his Ferrari to drive! especially one who leans toward the blu end of the spectrum
