New to Ferrari life / new Mondial owner

Hello all, new to the site and have recently purchased my first Ferrari. A 1982 Mondial 8 Coupe It is an original 20K mile car and I am in the process of completing a major service and correcting many of the known problems before I even attempt to put tags on it. Currently I am replacing timing belts, rebuilding water pump, upgrading alternator to 140 amp Delco 3 wire, replacing battery with Optima Red Top, and looking at the fuse panel for better options or rebuilding the original on. I guessing I will have it on the road mid January if I take my time. My other cars are a 1973 Porsche 914, and a 1999 Porsche 911 Cabriolet
Looking forward to being a part of the forum.

Welcome to the forum Dean.
I think you'll like it here.
That's a beautiful Mondial, I've loved that car since I first saw it.

Of all the narcissists I know, I love me the most.

Doc- Welcome to Ferrari Life. Very pretty Mondial, although I would think twice about an Optima battery. There have been some real quality problems since Johnson bought them and moved production to Mexico.

I havent heard about it, going to have to read up about it. I picked one up off Amazon for less than a lead acid battery, think I paid $133. Cross my fingers and hope its a good one!

Dean,

Welcome to Ferrari life and the Ferrari family! Your Mondial looks like a real beauty. I have an '86 Mondial 3.2 and can truly say it's a fun car to drive.

Hopefully El Nino will keep the weather where you are stable enough for you to enjoy her once you get her back on the road.

Happy Holidays!
