first post first ferrari

Hello to everyone. Been looking at site since buying my first ferrari back in June. Too busy sorting car to talk! I have attached picture of my 89 testarossa. First drive was 12 hours to home only to find I had no jack or tools onboard. A bit naive! And lucky to get home- have since replaced clutch master, bi-metallic warm up valves and front rotors, lines and calipers. Having now had some time to enjoy it and after being in jag's for 30 years (and still in 'em) and porsches I think I can see the attraction. This is a great drivers car and the note coming from a non standard exhaust is just fantastic! I also run an XJS V12 but these are two different tourers altogether. So I'm looking forward to puttin some miles in even though it is difficult in Australia where our roads are mostly crap and our speed limits and highway law enforcement is very anal! Would love to be on some interesting euro track with this baby. Car is RHD and has full history with 75k on clock. I also enclose a piccy of my mate's 355-it's his first ferrari too!

Happy new year to all

Thanks Michael,
I like the look of your garage! I'm guessing the monaro is in aus? It would be interesting motoring if it were in Ireland!
Cheers

No it's in Ireland loud and proud, although it only sees a couple of hundred miles a year these days. I laugh out loud every time I fire it up though

Cheers
Michael

Nice! Didn't have one but shared uni digs with a mate that did. it brings back memories. You need a blast down an autoban to blow a few cobwebs out of her.
Cheers

Great car! Congratulations. 12hours drive home! 1000 k's or so from a dealer. Sounds like near the outback?

David.

Not the outback but north to New South from Melbourne.

Thanks all for the welcome-look forward to discussing all things Ferrari.

Wow! It must be super to have a wife that has a Ferrari 355! Mine just had a Chevy Bel Aire when I married her. But she graduated to Porsche subsequently.

LOL Jerry.

The term "mate" in that part of the world is not to be taken too literally.

Then again, I've heard my fair share of Sheila and sheep jokes from Aussie and Kiwi friends.

You're right there Jerry. My wife (Anne) will be amused and so will my "buddy". Sheep jokes-the're for Kiwis-got a hundred of 'em
