New 550 Maranello owner

Good day readers

I have been a browser for almost a year, with the initial idea being to purchase a 360 Modena. Recently I had a change of heart when I took a 550 out for a drive. I purchased the vehicle last week. It is a 2001, silver with red interior, 26 000 miles on the clock, in almost new condition. I have put around 500 miles on her over the weekend. My cheeks hurt from the endless smiling. I will post some pics shortly. I am blown away by this vehicle. Pure art!

Congratulations, Jay Kay! The 550 is indeed rolling art. Took a drive to Munich in my bluebird this past weekend. The more I drive this Ferrari the more impressed I am and the more smitten I become. The subtle charms of the front engined V12 Ferrari become addictive! As a good friend, who joined me on the drive to Munich remarked, the big Ferrari is like savouring the best of whisky, the connoisseur's choice. Quite a compliment from my friend who is a 911 man through and through.

Enjoy in good health and looking forward to seeing the pictures.

Congratulations Jay Kay. The 550 is truely a motoring masterpiece. Always a pleasure to drive, you just have to get used to having a permanent smile on your face. I look forward to seeing photos.

Welcome to FLife Jay and congratulations on the purchase. Always glad to have another V12 owner here. That's my favorite color combination too, so please post photos.

BTW, how about filling out your profile a bit more and telling us where you're located, etc.?

High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars.

Clynton- She looks great. Just the right amount of bordeaux leather. Very pretty.

Thanks Terry

I am so proud of this car. Just got home from the office and took a little time to stare at her. I am doing a 800km round trip to Botswana tomorrow with her. I'm so looking forward to it. I am keen to see how she feels on a longer trip.

Clynton- The longer the trip, the more she will love it. Just never calculate the fuel consumption. Did it once and swore never to do that again. Scary. Like my old 67 7 liter Corvette with the 850 cfm Holley double pumper.

It cannot possible be worse that my old CL600.

The sound of the 550 tubi is enough to offset the poor consumption...

Just got back from Botswana. The 550 was amazing. What a dream car to drive over the longer distance. She behaved all the was. The temp went a little high, due to the stop go nature of Botswana. On the open road she ran super cool. The most amazing road trip so far.

Thanks to everyone for their kind words.
