360 owner in the UK

Hi,

I've been meaning to register on this site for a while. I've had the car just approaching a year.

An Argento Nurburgring 360 F1, 2000 with Blue Scuro interior.

I live in the NW of England, fairly close to both Manchester and Liverpool.

Regards.......M

Mike- Welcome to Ferrari Life. Very pretty 360 with Challenge wheels. Looked for BBS decals, but could not see any, so assume those are the 19" CS/F430 wheels.

Thanks Terry, 18" Challenge wheels. They have been refinished and if you look closely I added yellow BBS logos.

The car came with 430 wheels and they caused some scary ABS faults.

Yes, very much so. The car drives so much better on 18's.....I also prefer the look to the 430 wheels. A good improvement IMO..

Mike- Now I see them. Very nice. Wheels cannot cause ABS faults, but front and rear tires more than about 5% front-rear differential from OEM can. The car does not care how big the wheels and tires are, it just does not like too much F-R rotation differential from what was programmed into the ABS

Terry, I agree...

The 430 wheels with standard 430 tyres have a 6% larger rear diameter. The standard 360 wheels are more like 4%.
The larger ratio was enough to trigger the ABS very early and particularly at speed. I could have probably solved it with different tyres.
With the 18" wheels I took advantage of the wider rims and went for a 295/35 on the rear but maintained the 4% ratio with a 225/40 front. Problem solved.

Many seem to be able to run 430 tyres no problem but some do have problems.
