New motivated member!

Hello everyone! I just joined and I am excited to learn everything needed to become a F owner. A little bit about myself... I just purchased my first home last year and became a dad. Last year was probably the best year of my life as far as success and accomplishment go. Now that things are starting to stabilize, I want to focus on paying off all of my debt and saving towards my all time dream of finally becoming a F owner. I always knew Ferrari was a special kind of car made to move souls. As a young boy, I was in love with the 328gtb and Testarossa. My family could never afford any luxury cars let alone a Ferrari. This made me gain interest in more affordable cars and steered me away from ever thinking of owning a Ferrari. When the F355 came out, I fell in love all over again! But being only in high school, reality set back in and kept my focus elsewhere. Since then, I've owned numerous cars and always found myself looking to fill a void. Last month, I gave my brother 5 laps of the Dream Racing experience in Las Vegas for his birthday. I wasn't going to sit and watch so I purchased 5 laps for myself as well. That void was temporarily filled! Now that I am within reach, I can fulfill my dream of actually purchasing my dream car. I currently own seven cars. A 71 GMC truck, a Trueno AE86, a 2000 Silverado, my daily 2000 Accord, and three E39 BMWs. I plan on selling some cars that take up space and using that money towards debt. I plan on owning one in about two years. This will allow me to gather all the needed information such as maintenance costs and allow me to choose the model that is right for me and my budget. I can definitely see myself owning a F car with hard work and dedication. I look forward to meeting you guys and engaging in conversations. This seems like a great community.

Welcome to the forum Southpaw. You've come to the right place to learn about your dream, whichever model you finally choose. I don't think you can find a more comprehensive collection of Ferrari knowledge. Dig in and enjoy the ride!

Of all the narcissists I know, I love me the most.

Southpaw- Welcome and there are now Ferraris available for just about any budget, as long as maintenance costs are considered or the owner does his own work.

One good source for data is ferraridatabase.com, where you can download owners manuals and other technical data for most Ferraris. Might help you decide what you want.

Maintenance costs will definitely be considered. Luckily I work on my own cars and have a good understanding of how things work.

It has been a while since I posted any updates on my journey. My total debt has now been reduced by 71% thanks to great focus and motivation! In addition, I am itching to take a look at how these actions have positively affected my credit score. I am very happy with my efforts and I feel I am closer than I have ever been. I will continue updating this thread until that day comes! =)

SouthpawF1, a belated welcome to FL and an early congrats to your hard work and focus. Seems like you would be there soon.

Living in Southern California, it is only natural to go after such exotics.

Enjoyed reading your initial self intro too. Good luck with your pursuit.

w/ smiles
