Welcome. The good news is there are lots of cars like you describe, maybe some without the Challenge wheels. Do not let the wheels stop you from picking up a good car. The Challenge wheels are widely available used at a reasonable price and the F430 standard wheels are easily sold, especially to 360 owners.

Good luck in your hunt. You can download F430 owners manuals, workshop manuals, diagnostic codes and other tech data a ferraridatabase.com for free.

Thanks guys. Do you guys favor Ferrari dealer cars over non dealer and privates. I have been told that the non dealer cars otter have "stories" and privates have incomplete records.

Welcome to site . If you ever need any help , please feel free to send me an email.
If you fined a Ferrari at a independent shop . Always do a PPI , ask for service records and call local Ferrari dealer for any info on the car.
Best of luck.
Alex.

430 price

Guys:

I know this is not an exact science but whats a normal amount of mileage to expect for an 05 430.

What's the absolute ceiling where you would "pass on" for sure

Thanks for the input

They self destruct at 20,000 miles, I am told.

Uh-Oh, just checked and mine has 20,500 miles.

Seriously, the more mileage they have, the more broken in they are and the cheaper they are and vice versa. 05s are 8-9 years old and average mileage is 1000-2000 miles per year on Ferraris. Yes I know some of you drive more, but that is what my techs tell me. So anything less than 10K is low mileage, 15-20K is average mileage, etc. Condition is more important than mileage.

It depends on wear and tear - that mileage means nothing if it's been well cared for and vice versa.

I wouldn't worry about mileage on an 8 year old 430 vs how it was maintained - Ferrari warranty strongly suggests a minimum of 2500 miles per year.

Steve- I am going to give away mine. At least you have another 1000 miles before you have to give her away or turn her into a planter.

For Steve and Terry

A Ferrari owner wanted to sell his high mileage Ferrari.

But nobody wished to buy a Ferrari with 20,000 miles on it.

So he tells his friend who owned a low mileage Stradale at the C&C about his problem.

The Stradale owner suggests he take the Ferrari to a mechanic friend who will turn the odometer back by 10,000 miles.
