Maser owner, hope to be Ferrari owner soon **many pics**

Hey guys

I have been surfing this forum for a while but just joined. One of the main reasons is because of all the great advice and info for buying and maintaining a Ferrari.

I got my 06 Gransport LE, Anniversary blue, about 1 month ago. It had only 12,500 miles on it. Have loved every second of it so far.

I test drove one 2 years ago, and ever since fell in love with it, especially the engine and exhaust note

After "lusting" for almost two years found what I thought was the perfect GS for me, so I jumped on it.

I hope in the near future to get a F355, 360, or 550.. Can't narrow it down just yet. Guess why I'm on the forum!

My other cars in my stable:

2006 Maserati Gransport
2007 Porsche Cayman, manual, Tubi exhaust
2006 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, twin turbo, 520hp/530 lb-ft torque
2013 Chevy Suburban -family hauler
2008 Jeep Wrangler X- teenage step son's car

Ok enough talk. Here's pics! Hope you enjoy

Welcome GS Guy, very nice stable there!

Many of us like to use first names here, so consider filling out your profile a bit more and make yourself at home.

Happy Doomsday and Merry Christmas!

'99 550, Rosso Corsa / Nero, S/N:114654, Assy: 31836, Engine: 52084

High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars.

Congrats on the car.

How do you like the Turbo S? I'm looking into a 2006 right now - how reliable has it been? Problems? Issues?

Thanks,
Erik

I got the Turbo S about 8 months ago, and besides a broken turn signal bulb, it's been trouble free. The power, when the boost kicks in,is very addictive! That's what 520 hp and 530 lb-ft torque will do to you

Thanks for the info. I am leaning toward a blue, yellow, or red for my F car, but depends on what model I get (F355, 360, 550??).

Definitely I'm loving every second with my Gransport!

From the Gransport, the 360 would be a good 1st Ferrari.

Beautiful! But for some reason I'm leaning toward a yellow...not sure why

Boxer, noticed you owned both F355 and 360. Which would you recommend for my first F car?

Welcome Mike…..

You have some nice wheels sitting in that garage there….out of curiosity, why did you choose a Cayman over a 911?

The Suburban and Cayenne are sweet rides…..I have the Crew Cab 2500 version of the Sub and it’s a great vehicle and funny because I was looking at buying a Cayenne Turbo…..If you were to do it again, would it be the same year, newer year or another vehicle altogether???

BTW, a 355, 360 and a 550 are all totally different vehicles. It like comparing the Cayman, the Cayenne and the Suburban…..3 very different machines….

Hi Mario,

Very good questions. I got the Cayman when I first Finished residency and rewarded myself. At that time, the Cayman was all I could afford, and the S version was a bit too pricey. 911s were too pricey at that time for me, however having driven both, I like the Cayman better than the base 911. The mid-engined layout is amazing for handling

The suburban is for family hauler. Have 3 little kids and the Cayenne just too tight in back for 2 booster seats and a baby seat lol!

As for Cayenne i love it but like the newer generation's look better. But not enough to upgrade just yet

I think I took the 550 off my list. It is a great car but I think it's too similar to the gransport I have...Now it's between the F355 vs 360 Modena...
