A Ferrari Life Virgin.

Hi All,
Been a newby, I was drawn to FL by the wealth of techinical information and practical experience that a number of members have. Having owned and been passionate for Ferraris for over twenty years, I hope I can contribute in some way too. Looking forward to the exchange of ideas and views.

Hugh- Welcome to Ferrari Life. Need to go to NZ one of these days for some fly fishing and to see the WW-I fly-in.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.
The insperation has alway been motorsport, particularity Ferrari F1 and the techinical side of developing competitive machinery.
I have a Scuderia, that I speced in 09 and have covered 8000 km of passernate driving. It still puts the hairs on my neck up. I look after and maintain for a friend a Daytona, 365 BB, 246 Dino GTS and 308 GTB(Fiberglass), all originally NZ new cars. Myself I have had 308 GTB, 328 GTB, 360 Modena and now the Scuderia.
We have a vibrant NZ club and Ferraris per head of population use to be up there with Switzerland. Cheers.

Hugh- Sounds like you collect them one at a time like me, except I never could afford a new one.

Terry, you cannot beat the rawness of the older Ferrari's. There is nothing like Webber's sucking air from behind your ear!!
Peter Jacksons WW1 aircraft collection is one of the best in the world. It has both original and replicators with a large proportion air worthy, possibly numbering up to 30. Well worth a visit if its your thing.

Hugh- Yup, I just sold some WW-I artifacts to Peter. He is building his own air force.

Welcome Hugh!

I'm very interested in your friend's 365BB, I presume RHD - one of only 88 built and I have one too. Would you mind sharing some details? How long has it been in NZ? You can PM me if that makes you feel more comfortable. There are not many 365BB owners on the net and it helps to share.

Thanks everyone for the continued welcome.
JazzyO, the 365 BB is RH drive, was delivered to NZ new in 74, has done 40000 km, the body is in original condition, the engine has had the usual maintenance as well as exhaust headers and muffler etc. Drive well other than some fumes, but you cannot beat the induction noise of those webber carb's as you would know.
