New Member 575M & 16M

Hello every one, my name is Muftah, this is my first time I write to the forum. I have been a Ferrari owner” black 2003 f1 575M” since 2008. I did extensive custom upgrade to it, including: engine ecux2 tuning, and all the hgtc upgrades minus shocks and the f1 ecu hgtc (not compatible with 2003 models), X-pipe, new big brake system and new wheels and tires to fit, stereo system, built in radar, novitec rear lights, new steering wheel and f1 paddles, fitted leather SA center tunnel wrap, and some custom alcantara and carbon fiber for the interior and the exterior. I alsoI have a gorgeous 09 blue oceano QP S with MC paddle kit and updated sport exhaust system. I have developed a passion for Italian cars since my first 06 QP. Last week, I went to Ferrari of New England to say hi to the guys and to check on my car that being serviced. I was not in the market looking for another car, as I am happy of what I have, but suddenly things changed, I could not resist ( I tried to walk away but I couldn’t ) what I saw at the show room; a magnificent one of a kind 16M. The car literally told me do not pass, I am very special, its your only chance. I was not sure if it was ecstasy, love or lust; It’s not easy to find a car that’s so engaging, truly sporty, convertible, and yet very classy. I find it to be a new level of driving experience-at least for me. This coming Monday I am trading my beloved QP for the 16M.
In the near future, I will post pictures of the 575 and 16M
Also, I have 575 OE parts for sale: excellent shape 4 std rims and 4 optional 19” rims, aluminum color break calipers, discs, and a brand new F1 GTC ECU for quicker gear shifting.
Regards,
Muftah

Muftah- Welcome to Ferrari Life and its sounds like you have a really nice stable of cars. I would be interested in your F1 ECU.

When you say all the HGTC upgrades, do you mean you have the CCM brakes and the carbon fiber instrument panel, as well as the exhaust? There were kits available for the HGTC upgrade from the factory, which varied depending on how your car was equipped. The common elements were the CCM brake kit and the CF instrument panel with the CCM brake algoritms in the 2 Mb chip in the panel.

Look forward to seeing photos of both of your Ferraris.

575m f1 hgtc ecu

Hi Terry,
I am happy to hear from you directly,
I did not do ccm brakes and carbon instrumental display, but I did the 15" Brembo GT Brake Kit with 6 piston monoblock calipers, 2pc floating drilled rotors in front and 4 piston in the rear. I had vivid racing repaint the calipers with Ferrari red and logo.I did hgtc springs, sway bar, ph steering relay, 220 amps alternator and ho battery , 50amp engine ecu fuse (I think), and engine ecux2 upgrade with Renntech, new rims c97 from hre19" D and 9" wide in front and 11" wide in rear, new Michelin super sport tires, lowered the car by 7mm, and did various classy interior and exterior enhancements.
The F1 HGTC I have : ECU # 211426 was manufactured on 11/30/2004 is unused, the dealer could not make it communicate with my engine ecux2 maps, could not do the relearn process. this is very hard to find item, I had to get it from Ferrari in
Hon Kong. Give me a good offer and you can have it.

Look forward to hear from you,

Muftah

Welcome to FLife. 16M is a very different but highly complimentary Ferrari to the 575. Look forward to hearing your impressions on both.

Suggest you also add a few comments: http://www.ferrarilife.com/forums/fe...d-you-get.html

Muftah- You have a PM with an offer on the TCU. Will see if I can make it work on my 04 eventually.

Should be easy to sell those 19" rims. The fronts are too small for my ceramic brakes, though.

Pictures and info of my 16M

First, I would like to answer some of your questions and would like to thank all of you for the nice welcoming comments. I should have joined the forum years ago;however, I was extremely busy managing my company. I remember on mid 70s in Libya, when I was a kid, my older cousin owned Alfa Remo, each time I saw the car, I asked him to give me a spin; I loved that deep engine throttle and exhaust sound, especially when he floors it. Before 06, I was a Mercedes Benz guy, We still have one, my wife drives S 550. I bought my first Italian car in 06, I did like the classy design of the Maserati QP which was traded on 09 for a new QPs. I have never thought that one day I will own a ferrari but that changed on 2/08, when I saw on eBay a black 03 F1 575 with 6000mi belongs to Motor Cars of Georgia. I loved the shape and color combination of the car and I bought it for 150K. Now, I am trading in my 09 QP for my 2nd Ferrari . My big day is tomorrow. Please see attached

Thanks,

Muftakh

Congratulations!

I haven't seen that 16M for some time - very high spec'd.

Recall it was signed as it was one of the last one's if not the last one off the line.

Wow, you bought that car. Congrats. First reading your post wondered which one you bought, the Grigio Titanio one, or that one. Good choice on the wheels, hint, hint Doug!

That is my favorite Scud / 16M interior, leather with full alcantara seat inserts. Hopefully it will be driven!

If you would share pricing info, that would help our 16M thread.

I called on both those - the Red one was 329k and almost zero movement.

Almost bought it ... even had grabbed the AMEX for deposit - really good to see it went to a member here.

Yeah Yeah - the wheels are spectacular too!

FONE does not negotiate much. Must have a captive audience up there. Subliminal message to Doug, "wheels.".

Got it - like a billboard ... they are good for us in the long run and truly feel they have special Ferrari's.

C'mon Muftah - spill the beans about the signed hood and it being one of the last on the line vs staring at it sitting in your garage ... not that I blame you.

Wonder if he actually bought it, still on their website and Dupont, and haven't heard from him?

The Ferrari community is relatively small - really looking forward to hearing his version of the cars history.

This particular 16M always fascinated me and is to be blamed for getting me hooked on owning a 16M.

Terry good luck on making the HGTC ECU work - if anyone can figure it out its you.

Doug- At worst, I might have to swap out the two Motronic ECUs. They can be found cheaply, because there is very little call for them. Something for the future.

With HGTC exhaust, FHP suspension and steering, Superamerica CF instrument panel, and Mov'It ceramics, my car is very close to the HGTC kits Ferrari offered for the 575M. The HGTC TCU will just get it a little closer, and was not a part of most of the HGTC kits.
