Traded Carrera for 612 ...

Hello all,

Well I just traded my 2009 Carrera for a 2008 612 Scagiletti and I just can't seem to get this big grin off of my face!

The Carrera is a superb high-performance driving machine; The 612 is all of that and a lot more!

See you on the highway.

Jim- Welcome to Ferrari Life and congratulations on the 612. Totally different car from a 911, as you already know. Looking forward to hearing your driving impressions and seeing some photos. Hard to beat a big V12 with a luxurious cabin.

12 cylinders and a back seat will do it every time.

850i XJS CL65 SS and of course the 612.

didn't know about the XJS...

front engine V12 2+2 is a very appealing package

Doug- You need to change the name of your current cars to Bentley SS because every time I see SS, I think of a souped up Chevelle, Nova, or Camaro. Showing my age, I guess, but lots of my friends had SS cars when I was a bit younger.

Doug- If you are going to get a Yenko, might as well get a 427. I had a couple of friends with 396/375 Novas. The only difference between that engine and the 65 Corvette 396/425 was the exhaust system. All the other part numbers were identical.

Those were the days of truly fast cars - bad brakes tires and engines that could pull a house uphill.

Congrats Jim and welcome to FL you're in the right place I recently switched over from a MB SL55 to a 575. I've been forewarned it's a love hate relationship but its cheaper than a mistress I look foward to hearing how every thing works out (we like seeing pictures as well) To all you SS guys out there, how many of us still have a timing light, dewell meter and spring tool for drum brakes in our tool boxes left over from the days when we could fix our own cars? (I cant believe Im starting to sound like my father my father 30 years ago )

Jim- She looks nice. Attaching photos is easy. Go to manage attachments below your post to open the manage attachments window, browse your files until you find the one you want and hit open. You can do that up to 10 times, max size is 10 mb for one image or 1 mb for 10 photos. Hit upload and the system will automatically size the photos for you. Once the file names appear in the bottom of the small window, you can delete that window, and the photos are attached to your message. Jpeg image will appear in the post and Word and pdf files will be attached below.

You can also just click on the paperclip above and you will also get the manage attachments window.

Welcome to FLife and congratulations on the 612. I got mine about 5 months ago and really have been impressed with it. It gets lots of use all the time and is great to drive.
