My memory of the Chicago area is very extreme. Great Lakes Naval Training center, February 20, 1981, unique weather pattern extreme cold (-20ºF) with tornado warnings. Back in those days the prevailing wisdom was to open windows to prevent blowout. Froze my Ass off that night and seriously considered the benefits of hugging other men. Why not...I was already humping the radiator.
