Malta

Ciao!
I know Malta is not Italia, but there is no region. I was wondering about Malta after wandering around last Sunday by the Blue Grotto and stumbling across an apparent Cars and (?) coffee nearby with a Mondial, 430 Spider, 360 Spider, multiple Porsches and a motorcyle club. My boys and I looked over the offerings before taking a dip in the Med. Glad to see the cars out and about. It did not seems that there were great roads for the offering, but there was a track off in the distance.

Ciao.

Scott

Scott- There is a world famous Blue Grotto on the Isle of Capri. Did not realize there was one on Malta, too, and it looks pretty from the photos.

My daughter vacationed there last year from the UK. She thought it was very nice place. Eddie, one of our FLife members who was a pro Ferrari wrench, lives on Malta.

Every day I look around, and if nobody is shooting at me, it is a pretty good day.

Loved Malta in the 90's. That was our occasional weekend escape when we lived in Tunisia from '93ish to '97 or '98. Back then Tunisia was friendly to westerners, but every once in awhile we really wanted a full English breakfast, good shopping, and good access to ATM's. Malta scratched all those itches and it was only a 45 minute flight from Tunis and the equivalent of $75-$100 roundtrip, so it was a no brainer.

Lots of money on those three little islands - some of it from oil & gas ventures/scams, some from more reputable pursuits like drugs & weapons We nearly bought a flat in Valletta back in 1997 - wish we had.

Back OT, I wouldn't have called it a Ferrari friendly place; the roads (in the 90's) were cr*p, and so were most of the cars you'd see - all of them seemed to need new MacPherson struts or shocks due to the potholes, etc. But the scenery and weather is simply gorgeous, as you know.

Scott were you there on holiday or business?

Taz, I think Eddie is a Cypress guy.

High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars.

Yes. Saw the grotto on Capri as well. My college roommate has a house there.

Agree on the roads on Malta. Was there on holiday. Interesting place. No traffic on Sunday otherwise a snarl. Explains the day for driving. There is a track. Don't know more. Malta is right hand drive mostly. Cars from UK and Japan but Ferraris were LHD that I saw.

Yes unique island. English Italian and Arabic all in one. I'm not sure I would say little islands? Define little.

Still in Spain on Holiday but at last Internet. Ignoring work emails.

Hey Terry,

If I'm not mistaken, AUS is a continent.

Greenland is a big island for comparison.

Point well taken though.
