History of 250 TDF s/n 0787 GT.

To all,

I"m searching for information regarding the 1957 250 TDF serial number 0787 GT.

Specifically, I'm looking for a previous owner (Jim Boulware). If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated. If anyone can has any suggestions on where to look, that would be fantastic as well.

Thanks in advance.

I think you are talking about this one, formely owned by Dutch importer Kroymans and to my knowledge still owned by Victor Muller, co-founder of Spyker cars.

That's the one. Car is in the process of changing hands. :-) As such, I'm trying to find the one gap in the car's history. I want to get in touch with the previous owner to discuss that gap so I can complete the history.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

So Muller is going to sell it? Can you tell me if it still stays in the Netherlands? I have a bad feeling it won't...

Before Holland, it has had an Italian owner. Before that it was owned by the US man you mentioned, but it was there since 1960. Before that it was in Italy owned by three different people.

Niels,

I have the entire history. Actually, the car is currently in the U.S in L.A. It will remain in the U.S. but will definitely be in Europe for various events.

THis is the gap I am trying to fill:

1959, Monza, Coppa Inter Europa, No. 61, DNF, D'Orey, Motor.

1960, Sold, USA.

1975, USA, Jim Boulware, Monte Sereno, CA. Member of the California Ferrari owner's club.

1986, Sold to Italy, Vittorio Pizzolotto.

So, If anyone knows how to get in touch with Vittorio Pizzolotto, that would probably work as well.

There is a picture of this car in the Strakey book!

Car number 33 finished 7th at the Lottery Grand Prix at Monza 1959 with Fritz D'Orey driving.

Probably old news, but that is all I could find.

Thanks again for your help. If anyone else has any info, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have complete history except for 1960 - 1975. Need to reach Jim Boulware. He was the last know owner during that time.

This is a vvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyy y long shot, but I found a possible link between d'Orey and the US!

Again, I am not sure it has anything to do with this particular car, but:

Fritz d'Orey, a young Brazilian racing driver, had been driving various cars in Europe during the 1959 season-formula Junior, GTs, etc - and also Pennington's 250GT Ferrari. He was based in Modena and got along well with Pennington. Gordon Pennington, a wealthy Floridan, arrived in Modena to buy and later race Italian cars, primarily Formula Junior.

Could this be the man who brought the car to the US? Again, this is a long shot!!!!

It's a name I'm not familiar with, but I will track it down. I received quite a few leads last night from the Ferrari Owners Club and will try to track these people down today.

I'll send you pictures once the car arrives.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, I have all that info. As Mike was the broker of the car, he provided the info at that time.

Thanks again.
