Thank you! I just read your thread - a few things I'd like to mention. First, as Brian noted, the only earlier 328 GTB serial number is 56211 - and while it's widely known, only a picture of the VIN would prove as confirmation considering how early it is, and it's gone completely unmentioned for so long. Also, 58687 is a 328 GTS - a Euro car that came up for sale here in California just a few months after it was built.

Vitalone's car, 18729, is the fifth fiberglass GTB. The first one, 18317, was the prototype; the second one, 18677, is widely regarded as the first fiberglass 308 - in terms of production cars, it is; the next one, 18679, was originally Azzurro Metallizzato, and was on the Pininfarina stand at Earls Court Show in 1975; the fourth, 18681, is a RHD fiberglass GTB that's currently in New Zealand; then we have Vitalone's car, built in September, 1975. The GTS wasn't introduced for another two years, so these are truly the first handful of cars to usher in a whole new, decade-long era of Ferrari.

Vitalone is in Amsterdam, right? Didn't Scott own Vitalone's car after Vitalone? Or do I have that wrong? Anyway, I just learned that Vitalone's car, 18729, is for sale through a private seller in Amsterdam; it went up on eBay on the 16th.

Marc, that's a beautiful car! Did you recently purchase it from Autosport Designs in New York?

I owned it before Vitalone. Do you have a link to the eBay ad?

Chassis 37313

[QUOTE=134282;163638]Very nice! The interior used to be tan - and the paint used to be poor. Did you restore the car? Was it restored before you bought it? How long have you had it? How many miles are on it? It had 29,000 back in 1990. Congratulations, and welcome to the site. Please post a picture when you have a chance.

Did you know this car personally? Do you have any information regarding previous owners?

This is the most recent history of the car; it had a front end crash in West Virginia back in 2007; and remained unrepaired 'till now. It has 57,875 miles on the odometer. Due to the extent of the damage and the fact that the car was partially salvaged, it wont be fully restored to it's original condition; instead, it is being turned into a track-car. The interior is from another 308, that's why it isn't tan anymore.

I do realize that these aren't expensive cars, and that this project won't be profitable at all, but I'm doing it as a hobby, and the fact that I'm "saving" this one from the crusher is quite rewarding as well. ;-)

I'm based in Paraguay, South America, and will be doing most of the work myself. I have restored many cars over the years, and have a small collection at home. However, this is the first time I can get my hands into a Ferrari... and I'm loving every minute of it!

Seems like I'll be logging into this website a lot from now on for assistance! ;-)

Keep up the good work! Excellent website!

Wow, that BB is beautiful and immaculate and yellow is my favorite Ferrari color. Who made those wheels? They are really attractive and make your Boxer look even meaner.

Welcome to Ferrari Life and please introduce yourself in the member introduction area and Andrew can get you signed up as an owner.

Whoops, he beat me to it.

You're right Terry. Yellow is a great color on them.

What Steve doesn't say about his TR is we sold that car to Joe Montana new.

And Steve, that top picture looks like it could be out near Red Rock Ranch in the beautiful suburbs of MacDoel CA.

Steve- Very pretty TR and I really like the early ones with center locks. Is the interior pigskin if it belonged to Joe Montana?

When I was born (same day as the USAF), my father was flying P-51Ds at Shaw Army Air Field, later Shaw AFB, at Sumpter, SC. I have 2000+ hours of fighter time (WSO) in F-111s, F-4s, F-15s and F-16s, but I really want to go to Kissimmee and fly the dual control ex-Cavalier P-51D they have available. Kind of a dream from childhood.

Beautiful airplane you have.
