Picking a F430- older model vs new

Which F430 Spider would you pick?

2005 with 5K miles, nicely optioned. Would need to fly to see car, inspect, set up a delivery company, etc. to ship 1000 miles. Good service records. Car is $135K.

2008 with all the options of the 2005 plus Ceramic brakes, 6K miles, good service records. Car is local. $159K.

Welcome to Ferrari Life. There were continuous updates on the F430 throughout production. I made a list for another site and the differences cumulatively added up to quite a bit. For that little difference in price, I personally would prefer the 08, especially since she is local and that cuts down on a lot of hassle and expense.

Every day I look around, and if nobody is shooting at me, it is a pretty good day.

I`d go for the 2008 all day long. Both seem steep in comparison to UK prices? The 2008 should be $130K? ( UK equivilent ) Afterall they were only $173K new? ( allow for options though )

I've searched for the list, so if you can find it and post it here, it would be appreciated!

I would also agree with the 2008 car. Generally, the advice on Ferraris is buy the newest, best condition car you can afford.

That 2008 seems to be priced well. If all checks out and it is within your budget, that's the one.

Having owned 2x F430 Spiders and a Scuderia Spider 16M I would also strongly advise 2008 onwards as Ferrari made so many revisions to the 2008 model, as Taz says replacing parts that failed on earlier cars as standard etc, it's really a no-brainer, go 2008 or newer!

Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery, today's a gift.....enjoy every minute!

Manufactures are always making updates to various components during the life cycle of a model. Ferrari are not different if not a little worse as they don't really face lift anymore. The 08 would be the way forward.
