Adequate service in non-dealership areas
Wondering what owners do for service when the closest Ferrari dealership may be over 1000 miles away. I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, the geographic centre of North America, however, the closest Ferrari dealerships are in Calgary, Alberta (16 hours away); Toronto, Ontario and Montreal, Quebec; maybe Minneapolis, MN (9 hours away). I have read that many owners prefer to buy from a dealership which offers a Ferrari certification and warantee for pre-owned cars. This seems like a good idea in that you received a fully serviced vehicle with a warantee, however, what do I do if I have a future issue and am far removed from the dealership. I'm thinking of looking for a manual 6-sp partially because of servicing issues. but what about tuneups and anything that requires computer input/reading codes. Are independents capable of doing these sorts of things or is part of ownership just being prepared to ship your car cross country to an authorized dealership for service?
