California or f430

I have been researching and test driving an f430 2007 and a 2011 California. Both have low miles and in excellent condition. Both very different cars. I am moving from being a Porsche guy having owned 911's. The car will be my "fun " car as I have something for daily use. The California is a daily use car and has all the comforts of a 911 turbo s, but feels more solid and more exciting to drive than the 911. The F430 is just pure excitement with Red exterior and tan interior and much louder. I want to drive the car 5k a year and take it to our shore house 80 miles away on weekends.

The red exterior is also something that says"look at me" in the f430 while the black California Is under the radar to a degree. I am not s flashy person.

The price difference is about 40k but it is really a matter of depreciation.

Can someone give advice ?

Black 430

Comes down to personal taste. And traffic to shore house.

I've owned both Ferrari's in question & a Scuderia Spider 16M, for me the Cali can play at being a fun car & also play at being a terrific GT car, it is a perfect everyday Ferrari IMO & that's why I bought their new Cali 30 model, whereas the F430 is just a fun car period & if thats all you want it for then go with the F430 - but, TBH both are great Ferrari's, theyre just great in different ways, as you already seem to know, so just follow your heart & buy the one you really, really want & remember, you can always trade it in for the other when you fancy a change - win win!

Good luck & post pics once you've decided & purchased

Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery, today's a gift.....enjoy every minute!

Thank you for the quick reply. I'm going to dealer tomorrow to figure it out. I'm not a flashy guy so just a little concerned about the red tan f430 being too flashy. but maybe I shouldn't be concerned about that.

One last question- the f 430 only has 2900 miles on it. Is there any concern with it not being driven. Dealer says service is up to date.

That's low miles on any 6 yr old car, as long as the service history is good then you may get a bargain, however, Id prefer my Ferrari's to be driven at least 3-5k per year! Also there were a raft of revisions on the F430 from 2008 onwards, I can't recall them all, however, Taz can fill you in if he jumps in, otherwise suggest you send him a PM.

Above all, go with your hearts desire & remember there is always another car, so if neither of these fit the bill just walk & enjoy the ongoing search

Always have an independent PPI carried out, I rejected a F430 Spider from an authorised Dealer who told me the car was mint on the phone, I had a PPI done & it turned out the F430 was a bag of problems, buyer beware!

F430

F430 all the way! Just get the PPI done by a reputable place (not dealer) and you'd be set to go! If you ever get out of the honeymoon phase (doubt it see other thread on owner section) you can trade it in. by then the california dropped by a decent amount. the F430 you are looking at i'm guessin is in the high 140's as the 08's are in the 150's. If it has all the options you want, i'd jump on it! If red is what you want, get the red. Dont let what you think others would think about you get in the way! i'm not a flashy guy either and almost convinced myself to buy a dif color. made my decision and not lookin back one bit! good luck!

BTW, if you are near LA, look up Fast Cars Ltd for the PPI. Great [email protected]

I have never owned either, but if you golf, maybe trunk space is an important factor also ? Good luck.

Congrats

Can't wait to see pictures and driving impressions. Sounded like the best way given your criteria.
Welcome to FL.
Drive it well.

Were you able to drive both before making a decision?
