2nd chance F430?

Guys,

after being bummed about the CNC F430, i checked the usual places...then finally ebay. ebay has a sort of a negative twist to selling exotics in my book but hey, it just means you have to do your due diligence right? i think my experince stems from my first encounter with a not so trustworthy seller of a ferrari 360... but here is another similar car to the CNC one (I love the yellow calipers!!!! and that CF rear!!!) lower miles too!!!

Ferrari : 430 Berlinetta F1 in Ferrari | eBay Motors

I sent an offer to the seller already pending PPI. please provide me any feedback on this seller if possible! the thing that gets me is they were an X-ferrari dealer? huh? did they suck and then ferrari yanked their rights to remain a dealership? plus, this car is in florida and i read around here that Florida cars are usually not as good as elslewhere? why is this again???

Btw

If whoever that is buying cars from under me decides to take this one too, i may have to hide from these here forums for a while....j/k... gotta laugh sometimes too ya know! this is just ridiculous! but seriously, if the car checks out, i think its a swell deal. Therefore, i dont blame anyone that picks this up in the next 24 hours.... OH, ebay alraedy shows that there is one offer ahead of mine...

HELP! PPI needed! Offer accepted!

fellas,

i need some good references for PPI in Miami (near Miami beach?) my offer was accepted by Kessler Motorcars on that F430 above. Its an '06 with 9K miles on it! HELP!

I did not expect seller to accept my offer without countering. Because i jumped so quick on it, i never got toask about body work, paint, leaks etc etc. suposedly he has service records but i never even saw those yet either. i am asking NOW... Do i push fwd? if so, how??? my offer stated "contingent upon PPI, MY personal Inspection and test drive." I never said "20 question interrogation..." my contingency should cover that right? look fwd to your replies...ASAP>

I grew up going to Steven Kessler motors around the corner from our place in NYC with my father. I don't know when/how they lost their franchise. It's the same group. I think one of the flifers bought from them recently. For many dealers eBay is a way of advertising not selling. They list, we look. Probably more than other sites combined.

GOOD LUCK. Weathers getting good.

winning bid..

guys i got the winning bid. working out details with kessler and bank... bank had me set to go for an '07 and up not an '06..."we're confident that won't be an issue but due to the holiday and short staff..." they can't guarantee my little loan til early next week...

PPi at Ft. lauderdale Ferrari is awaiting my call. Just need the bank to assure me that an '06 is equally good to finance.

Cheng,

Just got home from work, but saw this, many congrats!

On EBay, Kessler have over 100 ratings, and 100% positive feedback on eBay, so that's a good sign

Wish I knew someone in FL for your PPI. But maybe Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale can help...

If you don't want it to be "stolen" under your nose, have you considered putting a security deposit down?

Fingers crossed. There are a number of sources listed for financing on this site from others' experience. just search. Many options- I get solicited all the time at 3 % or less.

thanks

Scott, i'm going to wait and see what my bank decides. silly that i assume '07 and '06 be no big deal but the newer cars get better rates...pretty sure it shou;dnt be a big deal...

Don,

i totally appreciate the offer. i may take you up on it! i really want someone to just look closely at the body for chips, dings, poor repaint resulting in orange peeel or fish eye swirls.... seller is supposed to send me more pictures by end of day tomrw. if it does not satisfy me, i'll defeintley reach out to you.

PPI will most likely be done by Ferrari of Ft. lauderdale. Somehow the service guy i spoke to really insists on a compression test on all cars over 10K miles. this one has 9K. I recall reading on here that this test may not be as critical in certain cars. This car had a power cube warranty from 9/23/11 to 9/23/12. in order to get this, the car had to pass some rigorous inspection and compression. Since then, the car has gone 1000 miles wth the last owner. Then it sat on 2 dealer sales lots for the last 8 months. Ft. LAuder dale wants 500.00 for PPI and add'l 800.00 for compression. maybe i should call the Collection.

jose, any advice on the Collection service dept? i think its odd that various Ferrari dealers all charge dif amounts for their PPI's and compression tests. i.e. Miller 850 for ppi and compression, F of seattle 1000.00 for both...now F ft. lauderdale 1300.00??? i kind of think i shouod do it for peace of mind... but if PPI was clean, is it really absolutely necessary?

Best of luck Cheng. very excited for you. And can tell most other members here are too.

$1300 for PPI and compression test a little high, but may be worth it for peace of mind, and may be worth it in long run.

Car looks spectacular.

Save the 1300.00 and get it shipped or fly down and drive it back

You can have Ferrari Finance it at 3.5% or Penfed at around 2%.

Ebay is as good as any other site IMO it's much better - I bought many cars off e-bay incl a Ferrari sight unseen with no PPI.

Doug

not brave enough to buy sight unseen. yes, 1300 is alot for a PPI. i may pass on the compression if the PPI looks good i.e. engine sounds fine, no funny clinking noises, shifts fine etc etc... looked at the pictres again...she looks pretty darn clean but getting more pictures tomrw...

Hi cheng

The guy I have dealt with at the collection for service is Scott Olsen. His title is assistant service manager. I don't know any one in service very well so I can't really recommend too much. Definitely call and get a price. I wish I had more to offer. If it will give you peace of mind spend the money for ppi with compression. Compared to the value of your investment it's nothing.

Have someone lay eyes on the car for you. Pics won't show chips, paint defects of any kind, small cracks, scratches etc. I don't think they are deal breakers but its nice to know about them before the deal is done. You'll feel better and you could even use that info to negotiate a price.
