Price this hypothetical F430...

Okay guys...i cant seem to walk away from my desires to own a 6sp stick F430...

Without giving away the ad, what would you all say would be a fair price for this car:

2006 F430 Coupe
Red/tan
power daytona seats
3300 miles
HiFi sound
Oh, 6 sp maual.

SO, what would you pay? BTW Terry, TAz, i read the post in Fchat dating back to 2010 below:
f430 Manual vs F1 - FerrariChat.com
Back in 2010, that prospective buyer was looking at an '05 with 1500 or so miles at 147K. Look fwd to your thoughts.

If its the car you want, you'll be hard pressed to find another 6 speed car with those miles in R/T. I'd gues 135k would be fair. Have the headers been addressed? Does it have CCBs?

Cheng- I am not much good on prices, just on technical stuff. I dabble a little on price, mostly on Maranellos, but have not kept up on the F430 or 360.

Cheng, you make me laugh dude. You've had so many cars yanked out from under your nose that you're seeking advice in such a secretive manner - cracks me up dude.

While my level of familiarity with the pricing on the F430 isn't as advanced as my take on 360 prices, I'm willing to take a stab.

Miles are real, real low, so I'm assuming very few owners and also a fully documented service history. The fact that it is a 6MT makes it rare... Hmm.... (thinking as I type).

It's sort of a WAG, but I'm guessing they could ASK low $140's but would really end up in the low to mid $130's. I feel comfortable with low $130's.

Good luck.

Raj ;)

Yah Raj...dont want to lose out on this one if i can help it. I really think that if THEY (seller reading this???) were to meet me at 135K, i might even consider buying sight unseen with PPI. nah...need to see it. hehehe. It is a rare one for sure but not much as far as options go. No CCB's by the way. But the 6sp and power seats are more impt to me. I'd take a rear challenge grill over CCB's also but 6sp and power seats are a must if i can help it. seller called me today to see if i was still interested...i was not sure what to say as i already told him, "come back to me with your best price and we can talk"...Hence, going to wait to see what they want. If its more than 135k, i'm going to wait some more as this car needs more bells and whistles if i'm going to pay much more. Thanks for the comments fellas...Oh Raj, i have gotten over the emotional losses of the previous cars. prices and options are getting better now so i'm really glad that Algar 430 got sold out from under me...Still not over the F430 6sp from Miller Motorcars though...that one was similar to this one and sold for 135K.

wish me some more luck fellas...

Keep fighting the good fight Cheng! I'm really glad you're looking at this through normal-colored lenses now (the rose-colored lenses always give me a bloody headache)!
Also, I'm glad you're seeing a decent amount of supply to judge against your demand(s). I'm actually seeing pretty SLIM PICKINS' on the 360 front. Well, you can find them above $110k all day long, but that's too rich for my blood. Conversely, I'm seeing less (quantity and quality) inventory in the $80's

Cheng- Good luck. The car gods have to smile on you one of these days, so might as well be now. F430 steel brakes will work fine. They are larger overall than a Maranello's brakes (330 F 330 R vs 330 F, 310 R) for a lighter car. Plus there are plenty of upgrade options if you just cannot stand it.

thanks terry

Yah...I hope the Ferrari Gods will smile upon me and get me a deal and half on this up and coming F430...Today, a sales person sent me these specs:

2008 Red/blk F430
6 sp gated shifter
power seats
CCB's
Fr and Rr parking sensors
1500 miles

They will be asking $159K but wanted to give me first dibs b4 they list it. I had to be honest and told them it's out of my league. I don't mind saving some money and not buying options i don't really care for. CCBs, parking and super duper low miles are not that significant to me. Sooner or later, they're all going to have more miles which won't mean a thing. My car is going to get driven!! RAJ, notice i am not saying where in the nation????

Haha, I did notice
Their asking price is pretty high, basically brushing $160k! But with it being a 2008 and absurdly low miles, I guess they have a point.
I would also tell them "good luck with the sale" if I had that kind of dough to even be speaking to someone in that ballpark.

Have you seen or considered this car?
FerrariChat.com

I know it is an F1, but I believe it might be close to you geographically, and since it is from an FChat member, maybe there might be a well-documented history (it appears to be 1 owner). If I were in the market for an F430 Coupe, it would be pretty much perfect for me...

Good luck. If you get serious about the FChat car, let me know and I'll buy it out from under your nose :P

140's.

I think there are a decent amount of buyers looking for manuals.

When you see the right one pounce on it - spring will soon be in the air.

159k.
Find the most you are willing to pay and call him back with that number. Don't feel bad about it. You never know. If I was selling I'd rather here an offer than its not in my league. An offer is an a potential sale, thats never bad Plus 135-140 is still very good amount of money.

spoke to seller today..

well sales person of the '08 and i spoke today. my purpose was to make him realize that i am a serious buyer which i think i got that across. He pushed for me to give a number and i politely said 145K is where i have to draw the line.

As jose stated, I think 145K is still a lot of money. certainly not as much as some of the other F cars out there as we can get into, Uh Scuderias? 458's? FF? Enzo? I'll keep a very close eye on it as i saw some of their cars have been on the market for close to a year. As a business, woudln't you want to move inventory even if it meant only making a few grand? i am referring to cars thats been on dealer lots of say 6 months or more. Oh well...i am rambling but i doubt this particular one will sit long. we'll see.

Terry,

i think i need more than a storm to get the seller to go down to 145K I can not allow myself to think of ways to got to 150k! "whats another 5K? whats another 10K? whats another 15K?" that's pscyh unit thoughts... but IF i were to sacrifice a toy or 2 i wouldnt feel too bad about 150K....it truly is a rare car right???

Raj, i periodically check for 360's too and can agree that it's slim pickins in the sub 90K range. Well...there are many below 70K even but probably not the ones you'd want to take a chance with. It seems the more likely candidates that i would even consider are in the low 100's which would be pushin F430 territory. I just looked at the Fchat car and doubt i would go that route. There are some decent F1 deals on '07's with sub 10K miles for the price range i'm looking at. I just think i owe it to myself to look harder and be more patient for the stick shift. Its how i have always imagined My Ferrari. So we wait and keep shopping....

arghhhh!

Man...i offered 150K on that '08 and they won't budge. they supposedly want 165 but will consider 159K. Seeing that i have zero leverage on a new to market car, i will have to sit this one out. There just has to be more 6 sp F430's out there that will fit my bill.

Raj,
still lookin at 360's too just in case one comes up. I might do some hmwk on Lambo Murcie's as i have seen some in the sub 150's just for kicks. i think manual trannys are easier to come by with those. i know the repair/maint bills are outrageous though. Just need a Ferrari vacation for a little while. tired of seeing cars i can't/won't buy.

Terry..

Terry,

not only are we getting into 599 territory but a lot of other territories...i.e. Scuderia territory for "just a little more..." I saw an individual seller ad for a red/blk '08 scud with 2600 miles asking for 175K. thats only 5 to 10K more than the F430 i'm lookin at! is this a seller's market? I think the scud is priced accordingly but the F430 i want may not be! but then again, i'm just slightly biased.

Maybe i should pick up a 328 to pass the time for 5 yrs then buy the 458 for around 150K. Possible???
