Not familiar with the geography, but how about Brian Crall in San Ramon???

I don't do PPI's.

Make model year?

If its a Borgward I am not sure I can help but a little information really goes a long way.

PPI is just not very descriptive.

And near San Jose is a really big place. A specific location would be much better.

It's a 2009 Scud. I don't know the exact location, just that he's located in San Jose and often uses Ferrari of Silicon Valley.

The bad news is the dealer is the only one in the South Bay that is equipped to do any of the electronic interrogation to that car and that is very important.

The dealer in the North Bay isnt a good choice.

I would call San Francisco Motorsports at 800-969-1608. They, the two dealers and me are the only ones in Northern California equipped to do that. It will be a 60 mile or so ride on a truck if the owner will allow that.

Thanks Brian, helpful as always. Would you avoid having it done at Ferrari of Silicon Valley?

Do you think they will point out something they missed, did badly or wrong?

And if they missed it before why would they catch it now?

Also, that is their client. Are they going to piss him off and jeopardize a future sale and service business by pointing out the shortcomings of his car?

Great points. Thanks again.

Ppi

As stated above Brian Crall in San Ramon would be a good place to have a PPI. I have taken his advice before and was always glad I did. Kept me away from the bad and always pointed me to the good.

Might try Dino Motors in San Mateo, talk to Johannes Huwyler, another good source of information.

There is another shop up in Marin County, but I think that may be too far for your purposes.

Good luck

In the market for a 43o so this thread is very timely. Couple of questions.

1. Would you guys still get an independent PPI even if purchased as certified from a dealer.
2. Been told that 5k extra for cert has to be re-upped every year. Is it worth it for an 05
