On your clutch life question in a different thread, you could think of the scenario in a different manner. If you have all the records and the PPI checked out for everything else (no oil leaks with the low mileage, belt service recently performed, etc) just figure the cost of the new clutch into the purchase price of the car plus what life you believe is left. I believe once you hit 70+/-% you'll most likely start to experience the slipping in low gears if the driving patterns you speculate are accurate, but expert mechanics here trump any data I just noted
